Vehicle Detail

Up for sale auction in an amazing find for Honda collectors, 2 of the holy grails of honda mini trail bikes. This auction includes a 1970 CT70 silvertag with ONLY 273 miles and a low mileage1969 honda Z50 silvertag, both with titles. The reason we are selling these bike together is because of their awesome story. These were purchased together brand new in early 1970 and owned by a couple that used these for camping, they even have sequential licenses plates that were last registered in 1976. They include the original sales brochure they came from the dealer they were purchased from and a manual book that was purchased in 1975. Honda 1969 CT70, Title as a 1970Lets start with the silvertag rarity of this bike. For the first two months of production these bike were almost prototype style of production with many unique features that were only found on silvertags. The tag itself is a silver badge with no serial number on it and glue on i believe, no rivets used. They used unique handle bars that were designed to fit the black plastic levers and the handle bar knobs are thinner. The fenders had ribs on the sides of the fenders and extra lips on the front and back of the fenders " shown in pictures". The seat has a bolt on style tool carrier were as the later models were stamped as on piece. The wheels have a flatter spoke design and the back of the horn is black. Also all of the bolt heads have the number 8 on them. I am sure i am missing some of the unique characteristics of a Silvertag. This bike is finished in the beautiful Ruby Red with "273" miles. Still wears the orginal NITTO tires, the front tire is perfect but the rear tire does have some cracking in the treads. The paint shines great for it ages and does have a few scratches, "shown in the pictures". The seat is in great shape with some wear on the underneath wear it was resting on the rare factory luggage rack. The chrome does have some scratches and some very light pitting. The bike runs great and shifts through the gears as it should, it has a unique factory green inspection mark near the exhaust exit on the head. It has the all of original fuel lines but i did have to replace the petcock gasket. The headlight bucket was replaced with a nice replacement as the original has a crack in it but it is included with the same. All of the headlights and horn fuction as they should, the battery doesn't currently have battery acid in it. We were being cautious round the oringinal paint. The pictures doesnt do it justice. Honda 1969 Z50Again for the first two months of production these bike were almost prototype style of production with many unique features that were only found on silvertags. The tag itself is a silver badge with no serial number on it and glue on i believe, no rivets used. They used unique handle bars that were designed to fit the black plastic levers and the handle bar knobs are thinner. The gas cap and petcock are unique items to the earlys as well. The all black NGK spark plug boot and the marble great color of the coil specific this bike was well. Also all of the bolt heads have the number 8 on them. I am sure i am missing some of the unique characteristics of a Silvertag. 1969 was unique year as it is the only year of Z50 with a battery. Still wears the orginal NITTO tires, they are in great shape and show very little wear with no signs of cracks. The paint shines great for it ages and does have a few scratches, "shown in the pictures". The seat is in great shape but it does a a small brownish stain on the back of the seat "shown in the pictures", the Z50 also has the rare factory luggage rack. The chrome does have some scratches and some very light pitting. The bike runs great and shifts through the gears as it should. It has the all of original fuel lines original wiring harness. The original gas tank has some dents and scratches so it was decided to replace it with a replace but the original is include with the auction " shown in pictures". All of the headlights fuction as they should, the battery doesn't currently have battery acid in it. We were being cautious round the oringinal paint. Please feel free to ask any questions, I have many more pictures just couldn't post them all. Buyer is responisble for shipping or they can pick locally as well.
