This Buick Roadmaster convertible was originally designed by Harley Earl and was first sold by Hoffmann Buick, Kansas City, MO. The year this car was built was Buick's 50th Anniversary, so the company pulled out all the stops for this vehicle. The public quickly purchased an amazing 493,000 Buicks that year, which earned them a lifetime best third place in the auto industry. In those days Buicks were the traditional choice of doctors, attorneys and successful businessmen. The sticker price for this vehicle was more than twice what a decent house cost at that time, so this car was definitely an investment only well-to-do people could afford. It is a very impressive show car.
