Vehicle Detail

Vintage 1982 Boogie type van. Affectionately named "HAPPY-VAN" :-D(Please read to bottom) GMC. Factory authorized conversion done by Starcraft. Very high quality. RELISTED DUE TO INSINCERE WINNING BIDDER (new to eBay, with zero-feedback). HERE'S THAT SECOND CHANCE EVERYONE SPEAKS OF !!! Located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Ebay does not have provision for people with multiple residences. History:Special ordered new. Factory GM authorized Starcraft conversion. Used only for semi-yearly road trip to Las Vegas by older couple. Of particular importance is these people had no children and no pets! Rear seats only used for suitcases/luggage. This special van has been treated as such it's entire life. <<< NO RUST WHATSOEVER >>>. Hardly a visible mark on the whole van!!! On that note... It has hardly even seen UV rays. This van spent 99.99% of it's life stored in a single garage, covered, and the garage windows covered up. It's a true time capsule! You won't believe the paint, you won't believe the upholstery. It's a truly remarkable find. It's honestly difficult to believe when you stand beside it that you are looking at an all 100% original 1982 van. I believe anyone would be very hard pressed to find one in more outstanding original condition. LOW USAGE:Odometer reads in metric at 31,096 kilometres. Speedometer is Km/h and MPH. Exactly translated, odometer reads ONLY 20,652 miles. This is the original mileage. When we found it, it had been sitting for many years. As mentioned, this van was only used once per year. Then after a few years, not at all. Recent maintenance:Although it ran and drove excellent, it has had over $6000 worth of tuning and fluid changes. Includes, but is not limited to:Flush and clean of each and every mechanical system. Includes:Fuel system complete flush.Carburetor rebuild.Engine oil change/flushBrake system flush.Transmission fluid change/flush.Differential fluid change/flush.Power steering change/flush.Cooling system fluid change/flush.Complete tune-up.ALL new filters. Many new gaskets. Not only were all the fluids (and I mean ALL) changed, each and every system was flushed and cleaned. I don't think most people have ever heard of a $6,000 tune-up and fluid change... let alone on a 1982 van. Probably goes without saying but... Van is fully tuned and ready to go. Additionally, we had a $4,500 wheels/tires package installed. UNRESERVED:Now, as stated, I am selling this 100% UNRESERVED. Starting price is 250 dollars. Asides from helping arrange your shipping, I have no time to take 99 more pictures, or have 2-hour long conversations. It's probably a misnomer to say I don't care about price, but I am knowingly sacrificing dollars to put more emphasis on a hassle-free and quick sale. This will be a great deal for someone, as long as they pay attention, follow through, and are genuine and sincere. As such, I am not going to get into long drawn out discussions as to whether it's a 8.5/10 condition, or 9/10. Let's just call this a 1/10. Perspectives vary so, for ease of sale, please disregard everything else and assume this car is an awful wreck salvage-value scrap project vehicle with incorrect tires, poor exhaust, broken and missing pieces, and needing everything. My goal is, after 3 insincere winning buyers (2 brand new with zero-feedback), to find somebody genuine, sell this van, save some time this week during the sale, and devote more to helping the new owner afterwards with arranging their delivery. Also, review our feedback. You'll see that getting every last dime of money isn't my objective. We have money. We do not have time. Money comes easy. Sometimes money goes easy too (lol), but... it can be replaced. Time can't.We have sold 15+ cars now on eBay. This is our very last to go. We've LOVED this van. I had plans to do a few more customization changes but, bigger priorities have taken over. During our time on eBay, we've figured out a few things. We learned that 2 very important things are communication and procedure. Our little procedure actually focuses on communication. It goes as follows:After auction, we ask for your buyer's information. You supply. We fill in transfer papers and scan/send to you. You confirm spelling and information correct. You go to your bank, and send funds. We validate receipt. We begin on shipping, ...keeping you informed every step..You receive your cool vintage VAN, leave us another fabulous feedback, and begin cruising (and waving back to all the thumb's-up)We're not interested in Paypal deposits or anything. If you want this van, I'm sure you want it enough to be sincere. It's fairly unique with it's factory authorized customization and super low mileage. I'll be very disappointed if someone isn't genuine with their bid but, I think that anyone knowing what this is will see the value and step up. Our procedure is simple. Besides 3 main things (information, payment, delivery), it focuses heavily on clear and concise back/forth volley of communication. That's important. I realize I'm somewhat the anti-salesman and have taken intentional strides to heavily under-represent this vehicle. That's fine. Of importance to us right now is a smooth sale to a genuine buyer. Somebody will get a heck of a deal.... If you are bidding, please be serious as I am and understand our adherence to this little system/procedure. It's to help both of us. If, for any reason, you cannot adhere to this procedure, please let us know BEFORE BIDDING. OR,....IF YOU HAVE ZERO FEEDBACK OR ARE NEW TO EBAY YOU MUST CONTACT ME BEFORE BIDDING. Please understand from my point of view..... Listing something unreserved can be a big risk. We are aware of this, and are weighing heavily on finding a sincere buyer vs. dollars. As a buyer, at least please be serious about bidding. If you don't want to lose out on this awesome classic van, and HAVE AN OFFER, please contact me. Most of our auctions end with me accepting an offer. I always appreciate the early-bird approach. DELIVERY:...to most states and destinations is in the $1500+ range. Please keep that in mind. Budget for at least this amount. Texas and Florida, and other far southeastern states, are obviously a bit more at minimum $2250-ish. Any required inspections, certifications, registrations, paperwork, or anything else are the buyer's responsibility. I don't know the rules in each particular state so, am selling as per Alberta rules. My wife has become pretty good at setting up shipping and, is happy to assist. Rest is up to you. Payment is by bank transfer, US account to US account. As stated, I don't ask for Paypal. Once payment is received, everything else is ready to proceed from there. If you'd like to speak over the phone, I'm happy to hear from you. Please write and we'll make arrangements. A BIT OF USELESS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION :-DWhen we got this van, we had sold our class-a motorhome, and were looking to upgrade. When weren't immediately able to find exactly what we wanted, we decided to get a van to take the boat to the lake for day trips and not miss any summer fun while we kept searching. Finding this van was entirely by fortunate accident. We could not have been more pleased with our fortunate discovery and enjoyed it VERY MUCH. Since, we have bought a giant diesel pusher bus-type motorhome with all the amenities but, kept this van. It mostly sits in the garage, covered up but, we have thoroughly enjoyed taking it to car shows and such when we want to spend the day and go comfortably. We had a small collection of muscle cars and such, and are accustomed to the usual nods, thumbs-up, and gestures but, you wouldn't believe the response this van receives. I suppose this classic van is far less intimidating than most special interest vintage vehicles. Instead of the quick nod or thumbs-up... People tend to happily wave and want to come up and compliment it. Everyone really likes to come compliment it, talk, and share stories. Our young son, when he was about 5 years old, named it "THE HAPPY VAN". It put smiles on a lot of people's faces. Must've been a combination of the vehicle itself, and combination of the super shiny paint finish and tire/wheel package. In any case, we felt it was very fitting, and kept that name. Hope you have fun bidding. It's an exciting process. Getting a good deal sweetens the joy. I believe owning classic vintage cars and special interest vehicles should start fun and stay that way! Good luck people!
