1963 Chevy II Nova 400This is a true SSThe Body plate above has an X. That means its and SS from Oakland CA.Originally had a 6 cylinder. I even left the original emblem on the fender that says 6.Now it has a 350 small block bored .30 over. A 700R4 Automatic Overdrive with a 2200 to 2500 Stall Torque Converter. And a shortened Ford 9" Positrack with 4:10 Gears. I am selling because the small town I live in is about 80 miles from any nearby cities and I dont like the way this drives on the freeway with the way the 4:10 Gears are. Its like it needs to shift again.It rides Great from Stop Light to Stop Light. But for long distances its just not for me.Do not let what I just said scare you away, this car rides amazing and would be perfect for the city. It does not burn tires it just LAUNCHES. I've had the car for about 2 years. The guy I got it from got it in California in the late 80's. He and a friend were going to build it together so he could learn how to work on cars. But unfortunately his friend passed away. All they got done was stripping the car down to a shell and having the rear end completely done with New Leaf Springs and Nylon Bushings. Then it just sat until I got it in 2016.It came with the motor that's in it now. I just installed it as it was so I dont know much about the motor except he told me it has flat top pistons and is a 4 bolt Main. That was all he knew as well. The chrome on the car is a mix of Original and New. Some of the originals have minor dings. The only Moulding missing is the little Connector piece on the bottom of the rear windshield. In order to get it you have to buy a whole new set. Since the originals looked in so good of shape I just left it as it was. It Originally had the SS side Moulding but they took it off and filled all the holes. And they are very Hard to find so I left them off.Has New Front and Rear Bumpers. Underneath looks like New and has Never been driven in rain or snow. The automatic choke on the car is not hooked up. So if the car sits for 3-5 days without being started you have to pump the gas quite bit to get it to start. But once started and if started every day it will start first time every time. The car has the Original Console on floor that came with a 2 Speed Power-glide Transmission.The 700R4 bolted right up to it. But it did put all the Gears backwards.Park is on the BottomAnd 1st is on Top.So it goes like this:1st2nd3rd4th OverdriveNeutralReversePark Personally I like it better that way when someone wants to play with you. It makes it easier. You just shift down instead of up. The Interior is a Mix of Black and White.The Carpet is the Original Black and still looks Good. The Seats, Door Panels, and Headliner have all been Redone. The Headliner is Black. The Seats are White Vinyl with Black Piping.The Door Panels are White and Door trim and Dash is done in Flat Black.It has the Original SS Steering Wheel. Has an 8 Track Player that still works. Also have original radio that will come with the car. The Color of the car is: Arctic Blast Pearl with Violet Pearl and Light Gold Metal Flake added. The Front Windshield and Rubber Gasket are New. It is Manual Steering.It has No Air Conditioning but the Heater Works. The Front end was Changed over to the 64 Nova Drum Brakes so it has 5 lug all around. The Brakes and Cylinders are New. Has New 17" MB Old School Chrome Wheels from Summit Racing and New Tires that have only about 500 miles on them. Has Air Shocks. Here is What it needs and what is wrong:It needs a New Wiper Motor.It does not have a Safety Neutral Switch, so it Will start in Gear.When you get on it sometimes it Flutters like its starved for fuel. I dont know what is causing that.When you turn the Rear End makes noise but people told me Positrack will do that.Has a small oil leak and transmission leak that we can't find. Last Year I took it to my Local Car Shows and it has Won 1st Place in its Class 5 times. Then parked it in my Storage and has been sitting since.At one of the Car Shows I had a little bit of Silver and Red Pinstipping done.It is an eye catching car. And will be the Perfect car for someone who wants a Nice Shoebox Nova SS.For Those Familiar with HOT AUGUST NIGHT IN RENO, this would be Perfect Stop Light to Stop Light car.
