Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is a 1973 Triumph Stag. This is similar to a barn find, but actually was a "carport find", in that it has been under the carport for the past 8 years. The owner passed in 2010 and according to neighbors and relatives, he was driving it then, and that was the last time it was driven. The registration and state inspection stickers are all from 2010, thus supporting their claim. All I have done was to air up the tires (99% tread left), load on trailer, wash exterior and engine, vac and clean interior, and then take some photos.I have had the title put in my name, so no problems there.I am not a mechanic, so I wouldn't know where to begin on determining what might need to be done. I did hook up some jumper cables and turn it over for a second or two, to verify that it wasn't locked up. It turned over easily without incident. While the jumper cables were hooked up, the lights worked, radio worked, signals and gauges. I understand that draining the fuel and changing all the liquids, oil included, are what's to be done when a vehicle has been sitting for any length of time (8 years in this case). I believe some rodents may have made a home in the engine, on top of the valve covers and by the battery box. The distributor cables look to have been chewed on (see images). It is a 2 door hardtop convertible. We removed the hardtop, and then opened the soft top. The soft top is actually in very good condition, with what appeared to be about a 1 inch tear on the passenger side within a few inches of the rear of the car...in an area that looked like it could be easily sewn. The interior and exterior look to be in good or better condition. There are a few places of what looks like some oxidation, top part of both doors (see images) just below windows and few places on the hood. The interior has one small tear in the headliner, plus a place on the rear seat top, where vinyl is cracked some (see images). The sun visors' inside foam probably needs replacing. The seats vinyl is good, but the foam feels like gel. The carpet is in very good condition, and didn't notice any rust in floor pans. Very little to no rust on exterior, that I was able to see, including underside of vehicle and in the trunk. Glass is all good, cleaned up well. Dash and control panel look good (see images). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.I ask for a $500 deposit at close of auction, with balance to be paid within a few days.Priced to sale!See pictures for yourself. Thanks For Looking! Please, if you are not fully content and feel that all aspects of the transaction deserve five stars, I ask that you send me a message and allow me a fair chance to correct the situation and earn your trust. I am a firm believer in the Golden Rule of "Do Unto Others".This is an as-is purchase.
