I WOULD CONSIDER OFFERS TO CLOSE AUCTION EARLYCAR IS LOCATED NORTHWEST PHOENIX AZ.NEW LOWER RESERVE PRICEOn Jun-07-18 at 07:31:08 PDT, seller added the following information: A correction on motor. Vehicle is equipped with a 2 barrel carb and not a 4 barrel. Sorry for the misprintOn Jun-08-18 at 10:03:11 PDT, seller added the following information: 3- I have a California pink slip in which is their title 4- I bought a group of cars from a gentleman that lost his wife and lost interest in vehicles and property. So I'm not sure why it has not been started. If it doesn't sell I will get car running. I found a top for 350.00, carpet for 200.00 then what ever needs to fix and then try and resell. 5- The only rust hole is in passenger door. About 2 inch in diameter. You would be pleased with the entire body and floors as there is no rot out and floors are very solid. As best as I can see the car has been in CA. since 1984.Im very surprised on how nice sheet metal condition and having all the chrome there and intact and not broken 6- Some receipts show being driven in 1998. The car looks rough because of the AZ sun rot of upholstery, but to have a excellent sheet metal and being very complete and straight to me is a bonus. Top, carpet and seats are easy to replace compared to installing or finding replacement fenders or doors. Here is the info I found in internet. The VIN has J code indicating 429 motor. 1969 Mercury Monterey Convertible 429 2-V V-8 Select-Shift Automatic (aut. 3) Mercury Monterey Convertible 429 2-V V-8 Select-Shift Automatic (aut. 3) , model year 1969, version for North America U.S. (up to September) 2-door convertible body type RWD (rear- wheel drive), automatic 3-speed gearbox petrol (gasoline) engine with displacement: 7033 cm3 / 429.2 cui, advertised power: 238.5 kW / 320 hp / 324 PS ( SAE gross ), torque: 624 Nm / 460 lb-ft It shows to be about 40 HP less then the 4 barrel version. Hope this helps. Jeff Stout
