The famous initials we know and love were chosen by Cecil Kimber, the founder of MG. Kimber chose the letters as a "nod" to William Morris, his employer, and the owner of Morris Garages. Kimber, didn't just come up with the name, he also created the first line of MGs. He started out by fitting coach-built tourer bodies to the Morris Cowley chassis, creating cars known as the Morris Garage Chummys. A few years later, in 1924, he designed the 14/28 Super Sports model, the first true MG, and the car that premiered the octagonal logo which has journeyed with the cars ever since. MG, the British automobile manufacturer that started the whole American sports car craze, is represented in this 1973 B model. The next to last year for the "chrome bumper" this MGB is a very nice driver. The owner installed a complete new interior in tan to compliment the white exterior. The appearance is finished with chrome wire wheels. Powered by a 1,798cc 4-cylinder with a 4-speed manual transmission. The original dual Stromberg carbs have been replaced by a single Weber carb for better performance. This 91" wheelbase sports car had a curb weight of just 2,190 lbs. Reasonably priced to move quickly, a great opportunity to own the best of the last MGB model just in time for top down season.
