Vehicle Detail

2000 SVT Cobra R Mustang 12,900 actual miles Two owners since new, current owner has owned since 2002 100% Original Paint 100% Original Interior 100% Original Trunk, Engine Compt, UndercarriageNo Accidents, Clean Carfax! Very Early Production R, First 50 R's Built!#46 of 300 Ever ProducedAll Original Delivery Docs, Cobra R Binder, Window Sticker, Several Sets of Keys! You are bidding on an extremely nice and original example of a 2000 Cobra R Mustang! I purchased this car from the original owner, a dealer in Florida back around 2002. It has been in my small collection of Fords for the past 16 years. I purchased it with around 1000 miles on the odometer and I have driven, showed, and enjoyed it to the tune of about 1000 miles a year every since. It has never been raced or abused and I have taken very good care of it with any needed service work, oil changes ever year, and so on. This Cobra R has never bee crashed, or damaged/repaired in any way. It wears 100% of it's original paint, interior, underhood, undercarriage details. The only two modifications EVER completed were the addition of full Bassani exhaust, including the front x-pipe, and OEM Brembo cross drilled/slotted rotors. The exhaust was, (and still is!) the single best change I made to this vehicle. The car sounded anemic from Ford and everywhere I took the car, people couldn't believe how quiet it was. The entire exhaust system was over $1500 back in 2003, and these systems are no longer available and new systems in the box routinely sell for over $2500 due to the fact that it's no longer available. With this exhaust added to this vehicle, most Mustang guys who hear it say it's the best sounding modular motor in ANY Mustang with this exhaust. Lacking the cackling and drone of many aftermarket exhaust systems, this thing just sounds BAD any idle, off idle, or rowing through the gears. Since Ford, Bassani, and Borla all worked together to construct the factory system for these cars, it's no surprise that the full aftermarket Bassani system would be well thought out AND sound much more incredible. The exterior body is in excellent condition with a few notable items that Cobra R's are known to have. These are mostly related to the hood. As most collectors of Cobra R's know, the great majority of Cobra R's had some paint blisters that appeared under the paint in the first year or two of ownership, along with a very minor crack in the paint that appears along the leading edge of the hood. This vehicle has several of the blisters on the hood of the car, along with the minor crack as well. Even though the R's were sold without a warranty from the outset, in many cases buyers took their cars back and were able to convince their Ford dealers to strip and repaint the hoods. I have seen and heard many examples of cases where the hoods actually got worse, some FAR worse by disturbing the original paint. After hearing examples of the problem being made worse by repainting, I chose to not disturb mine and left it alone. I'd rather have a few small spots and my original paint than a repaint that looks worse, and isn't original paint any longer. The blisters supposedly came from the fiberglass hood not being fully cured and lifting the paint. If these spots are not pointed out, most people will never see them as most are 1/4 the size of a pencil eraser. The other minor issue is the crack, which appears about an inch back from the leading edge of the hood. This area appears on most hoods due to supposedly the lack of support/reinforcement in this area, and people push down too hard on this area of the hood. Again, without pointing this out 49 out of 50 people walking around it would ever notice it. If you choose to drive a Cobra R on the street with the front splitter on, you will inevitably gets a few scrapes underneath, which this one has. I hate the look of the car without the splitter on, so I have acquired a few scratches underneath, but nothing serious and nothing that can be seen with the car sitting in front of you. The interior is completely untouched and in basically new condition. The dash, dash pad, gauges, steering wheel, seat upholstery, headliner, door panels, AND EVERYTHING ELSE is just simply amazing and in like-new condition. All weatherstrips are just in incredibly nice throughout the car, and still soft and pliable on all surfaces. The engine compartment, underside, and trunk are all completely untouched/unmodified/unrestored. It retains 100% of all original components, original part number tags, chalk markings, paint markings, zinc, phosphate and other platings, etc, etc are all still as delivered/built. The underside is completely original, untouched and retains all of the amazing details the factory delivered. The original VIN tag is in place on the LH side windshield/dash pad area as are all the original VIN/stickers on the LH door. Vehicle has a clear, lien-free Ohio title which will be transferred in the next owners name. The original Cobra R binder is included with the sale of the car. This book is extremely hard to acquire if you are missing it for a Cobra R, and these have sold for $650 or more. It documents the assembly of these vehicles on the assembly line and includes the engraved plaque with the production number on it, along with a ton of other really cool photos and items related to the unique production of these cars. I also have the SVT Certificate, the Cobra R Supplement Manual, the Original Window Sticker, a color copy of the window sticker, several sets of keys/fobs. Additionally, I have a original/NOS Cobra R Press Kit, which is NOT included with the sale but I would offer it to the high bidder. These are also quite rare and hard to locate 20 years after these cars were built. A new Ford battery was just installed last month. A $300 custom indoor car cover made specifically for the Cobra R is also included with the sale. After approaching 20 years of ownership, I honestly never believed I would ever sell this Cobra R, but the purchase of a much higher priced toy has created the need to do so. I have set the price of this R in a very fair range to attempt to have a quicker sale. That being said, this is not a fire sale and I do not NEED to sell it. Low ball/ridiculous offers will be immediately rejected. I am easy to get along with. Please be serious, and fair, or don't bid/make an offer please. If you'd like to discuss it further, feel free to send me an email and I will call you. If you are looking for a super cool part of Ford/SVT/Mustang history, this is an excellent opportunity for a collectible car that you can drive, enjoy and show or just add to your collection. The last incarnation of the three SVT Cobra R's was the most interesting, the most powerful, and still can hold it's own with cars 20 years newer! This NO EXCUSE car would do extremely well in any quality show anywhere in the country, (or on a race track, if that's your thing!) 2000 R's are a bargain right now and if you want an opportunity to get in to a clean 2000 R below market, and likely before these cars explode in value, here's your shot! Non-negotiable terms: A $500.00 Paypal deposit is due within 3 hours of acceptance of an offer. The balance is due by wire transfer within 5 days of the close of the auction if it is being shipped. If you are picking the vehicle up, cash is due at pick up. No checks will be accepted. This vehicle is sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed or implied; heck it never even came from Ford with a warranty when it was new! It is for sale locally and may be sold at any time during the auction. If you have less than 50 positive feedbacks, contact me BEFORE bidding. This vehicle is located in Westerville Ohio, near Columbus Ohio. Shipping can be arranged anywhere in the US, or even overseas. Thanks for looking and email with any questions.
