Vehicle Detail
Up for auction at NO RESERVE is a Beautiful Toreador Red 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII with 146,000 miles. This is a very sharp car! The body is very nice with no dents and only the smallest of door dings. The paint is smooth and shiny. The clearcoat is NOT peeling or failing anywhere. There are some paint chips on the front bumper from stones and bugs There is also a scratch on the driver's side of the front bumper that has been covered with touch-up paint (please see last photo). The rear bumper is beautiful! The chrome on the wheels is starting to peel. I have included photos of 2 wheels; the best one and the worst. The tires have a lot of tread left on them and are wearing even. The black leather interior is nice overall. In fact the rear seats are almost like new and the front passenger seat shows only a little wear. The driver's seat shows the most wear with wrinkles and cracks, but it is not ripped or torn. This car is loaded and all the options and accessories work like they should except the power tilt steering wheel will NOT go up or down. . The a/c is cold and the heat is hot. In other words, the troublesome and expensive to replace blend door motor is fully operational. The power seats work, the door locks work, both power windows work, the sunroof works, and the radio plays well. Mechanically, this car is excellent. The engine is quiet, smooth and powerful. It does not smoke. The transmission shifts perfectly. The check engine light is NOT illuminated. There are no dash lights on. This Mark VIII still rides on its factory air-ride suspension and believe it or not, it has never failed. Even after sitting for weeks at a time the front end of the car does not drop. The car runs, drives and handles nicely. It goes down the road straight. THE ONE THING I DID NOTICE ABOUT THIS CAR IS THE FACT THAT SOMETHING IN THE SUSPENSION RATTLES WHEN IT HITS A BUMP. I don't know what the noise is for certain, but I'm going to guess it is a sway bar link or bushing. I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere. Thank you for looking at my auction. On May-14-18 at 18:08:09 PDT, seller added the following information: There are a few more things that I think might be good to know before bidding. The big center taillight on the trunk lid lights up. There is an owners manual in the glovebox. The cup holder that folds out of the center console is NOT broken. There are NO key fobs with the car. Thank you.
