Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a original untouched,3 owner 1960 Austin Healey 3000 showing 82,000 miles on the odometer which ran when parked sometime in 2008 . The car has 3 solid outriggers, solid frame rails and X box with original paint still showing on portions of the rails. The left front outrigger will have to be replaced. The fender wells are solid save the right rear which has had a repair at some point which is up to period repair standards. The car has the usual floorplan ,trunk rust and other associated interior rust which Healey’s suffer from and will require restoration. A inspection of the car shows no evidence of prior accident history save a 5 mph tap to the rear bumper which requires new bracket supports for the rear bumper brackets to bolt to. The only evident non original body panel is the rear deck lid which apparently was replaced with a used part at the time of the above fender bender as evidenced by the color under the deck lid repaint. The remainder of the panels appear original and are straight with good panel fit. Doors open and close with no pressure/resistance or sag. All chrome is fair with no rust through. Wire wheels are straight and the car rolls with ease .The engine turned with ease at the time I acquired the car. Since 2012 the cylinders have been oiled and engine turned by hand at least twice a year and has been kept in dry storage . The Healey is equipped with electric overdrive and engine bay is original down to the Lucas coil. The engine bay is tidy and relatively clean for a car of this age .Cam looks fine . Wiring harness shielding is supple and intact with no bare wires showing . The top(not pictured) is aftermarket new with clear window but there is a repairable hole in the top . Not shown but included are original plastic sliding window panels, front bumper with mounting brackets, top bow and frame and front seats. The bottom brackets to the seats are fine but the seat frames/pans rusted beyond repair. Dash is original and untouched. Essentially this is a complete unmolested car ready for your restoration . N.J. brown title is in hand .Please note that the trailer is not included with the car/purchase price. I have tried to give an accurate representation of the car based on a visual inspection, However, I am not a professional mechanic-restoration expert and therefore you should rely on your own good judgement and experience when bidding . Reason for selling: too many projects and not enough time The car is located on a local country road which is inaccessible to over the road transporters. Providing that payment is made in full the car can be stored for a reasonable time( 30 days) to assist in coordinating transport and can be delivered to a accessible location in Newton NJ 07860 during daylight hours upon reasonable notice ,otherwise arrangements for a rollback will have to be coordinated by your transporter. North American sales only. Foreign buyers please use a North American agent however payment is still your responsibility in the time periods outlined below. The successful bidder will be required to submit a PayPal deposit of $500 within 12 hours of auctions end. The balance of payment to be by bank wire transfer within 7 days (not business days) of auctions end. This is the only acceptable method of payment ,the failure of which will result in cancellation of your bid and negative feedback. The car/title will not be released until the transfer of funds have been confirmed by the receiving bank. New bidders or bidders with less than 99 % positive feedback should contact me prior to bidding or your bid will be cancelled. If you bid it should be with the understanding that you are financially capable of complying with the above payment terms and that the sale is final with no returns accepted. Sorry for the unpleasantries but there are always those few who spoil it for the vast majority of responsible bidders.
