The BMW 540I wagon is becoming a rare car and always has been since production. Only 7% of all E39's are wagon and this is the rarest with only 261 made in 2003. Seeing this car on the street is less common than some super cars! But, this car is a wagon...so, it's more practical ( and much slower, but it's no slouch). Moving on to the details. The good (Replaced, fixed or installed):- The front oil pan was lowered to inspect for timing chain guide plastic and the pan was clean.- Mass Air Flow meter replaced less than 3k miles ago.- Valve cover gaskets replaced.- Water pump- Thermostat- Valley Pan Gasket- Torque Converter 4k miles ago- Rear main seal- Front Lower control arms and thrust arms- Right tie-rod end - All rear upper control arms- BMW Alignment on all 4 corners- M5 Front springs and struts- Rear lift glass struts replaced with Sachs OEM- M parallel staggered wheels bored to 74.1mm to match e39 hub (No spacers).- Beautifully painted hood and M front bumper from this past fall (repainted due to clear coat failure). This was not a Maaco paint job. A professional body shop applied a two stage base clear and color sanded!- Heat-shield attached to ABS module to help disperse heat from engine.- All power steering hoses replaced.- Stock Hella headlights. All adjustors removed and replaced. Lenses polished. Angel eyes work. The Not So Good:- Head unit does not produce sound. I tried to return to stock from an aftermarket hack job done by the previous owner. All computer functions work. No sound. - The tires sometimes produce a slight vibration at highway speed until they are warmed up.- It has an oil leak. I believe it's coming from the timing chain covers. - Rear muffler delete ( It sounds really good, however some might find this as a negative)- This car is 15 years old and it shows on some body panels. There are dents on this car. She is far from perfect. Paint-less dent repair can be done on many of the panels. - Interior lower trim panel on the drivers side in damaged and the trim panel on the passenger side was removed because of how damaged it was. This was all likely due the the last owner installing the aftermarket stereo cables. - Rear passenger door handle torn Please email with questions. Happy Bidding!
