Vehicle Detail
I've owned this car since Dec 2014 and love driving it. When I bought the car it had just under 24,000 miles and was written off May 31 2014 as a salvage and the mileage was reported as unknown, probably because it didn't have a battery to show the mileage at the insurance lot it was stored at. I replaced the fender, headlamp and front bumper cover. I bought it from a dealer as a salvage, and I'm not sure why the title does not say salvage now, but according to car fax it is a salvage title. I'm the second owner and have had the car licensed in two states. The car runs and drives perfectly and you would never know it was in an accident. It has two error codes, one is for the tire sensor in the front right wheel, the battery must be going bad in the sensor as sometimes it is fine other times it says tire is flat, but if you reset it will clear the code - until the next time you drive it. The other code is charging the system. The alternator is charging fine, but the Porsche tech said is it .02 short of what the factory recommends. I've replaced the voltage regulator in the alternator and the code is still there. If you buy it now I will fix these two items and they are the only two issues with the car. I will gladly take to a Porsche shop for a pre purchase inspection if requested. If you aren't familiar with the 997 gen 2, 2009 was the first year which included an upgraded motor which was a much improved over the previous versions.
