Vehicle Detail
1968 Cadillac Deville Convertible that is built for driving. For me, this means that I wanted a car that handles well, accelerates quickly, brakes fine, I can see at night- my eyes are getting old-, has a great sound system, and is driver friendly. This car has a smooth, powerful, recently rebuilt 472, with an upgraded vacuum shift tranny. The 68 came with a linkage shift tranny which was difficult to set and not terribly fun to drive. The 69 came with the vacuum shift which was better and can kick you in the pants when you put your foot into it. Also, the rebuilt tranny has overdrive. This gives me better mileage for my long drives and fewer gas station visits- which I only use non-ethanol. For my cruising enjoyment, I installed new carpet, fixed the floor pans, put in a heat shield and a sound shield, and tinted the windows dark. Fortunately, when I got it, it had a new convertible top. On the rare occasion I have driven it in the rain, I found that it leaks at the corners of the windshield. Coincidentally, my cousin's 2018 Jeep Wrangler leaks in the same places when he's using the soft top. I love bumping sound. I put in a 10 speaker- mostly higher end Pioneer- with a Retro Style (brand name) radio with Sirius, subs & amp. This required a new battery, alternator, and upgraded electrical system. Also for sound, it has a new dual exhaust with bellflower tips that I haven't put on yet. I have video of how the engine and exhaust sound. If you call or text, I can send it to you. I put on all LED lights to help this old man see at night. To give it a better drive- and meaner look- I installed 3in drop spindles. This required a custom center link and a rebuilt steering system- gear box, tie rod ends, steering column, and all the belts. I changed the front brakes to discs because the 5k lb Caddy Deville doesn't stop worth a darn with 4 drum brakes. I recently put in power door locks while replacing the power window motors. It just doesn't look right to have to reach across to let someone else in. It also has Bluetooth connectivity now so you can talk hands free. And I put in USB connections to charge two phones. This hot rod looks sick and mean. It floats down the road and is great off the line. It was an Alabama car, so very little rust- see pics- under driver's door is paint chips, surface rust on the top of one skirt, paint chip smaller than a dime on one fender, and some fading in 3 areas. The driver's side of the bench seat needs to be fixed. However, the whole car smells wonderful, like old leather. It is a non-AC car. It's not hard to add AC, just hasn't been a priority for me. I prefer driving this hot rod, lead sled at night- with the top down. It is amazing. With LED cornering lamps, LED headlights, LEDs under the dash, and LED tail lights it shows off really well. I get constant pictures taken, people take videos of me on the highway, people talk to me at red lights, and many, many people walk up and just say how awesome it looks. I have to say that this gangster style, low rider, lead sled, no navigation, hot rod Cadillac really needs to be seen and driven to appreciate how much fun it is- and how much attention it draws. Call me with any questions, for more pics, or for video.. (813) 846-8106 Jason Plus, since December, I have driven it to Atlanta twice- 8hrs, Miami- 4hrs, and Daytona- 3hrs. I require that you pick up the car and pay cash. When you get here, I'll make sure that you have a full tank of gas. Car is sold "As Is- Where Is". There is no warranty, neither direct nor implied.
