Vehicle Detail
This is a privately owned 1995 Jaguar XJS in triple black. The 4.0 engine has just been tuned and the transmission shifts smooth. New battery, new ignition coils, MAP and throttle body cleaned, new tires, new headliner on top. The newer (with glass window) canvas top functions perfectly and is great shape. Upgraded stereo with bluetooth. Brakes in good shape. Engine and trunk compartments are clean with original tool kit in the back. Gloss black paint on this facelift edition car is original as best I can tell and the good care over the years is apparent in person and in the pictures. There are no dents or known past body work. Up close, you may see a couple very small imperfections (drivers seat has a 2 inch tear in the traditional spot) but they are hardly noticable and certainly expected for a driver quality car of this vintage. I have had the car for many years and converted the european single lights to the classic quad lights when I first got it. That was due to my personal preference as I do not like the yellowing of the plastic on the european style. Car started its life in Beverly Hills and then came to the Northwest in later years. To be clear, this is my car, and I took care of it. I am happy to discuss the car history and ideosyncracies with a serious buyer before purchase. It is a Jaguar. Any buyer of an older Jaguar should be able to perform day to day repairs on your own and enjoy it. I do, and have restored and driven British cars for over 35 years. I am convinced that the 95-96 model years are those that saw perfected the XJS technology. Note: Chrome rims look great, but up close some of the chrome is flaking (tried to capture in picture), the drivers seat had the rip mentioned and a brake light on the dash is being looked at. All gauges read fine. A/C has never been used as I live in N.W. and it will need service if you want it. The owners manual and many of the receipts through the years kept. This is car that will make you smile for years to come. It is not a showroom car, but a beautiful driver with 160,00 miles (under 7000 miles per year!). A clean title in hand. $1000 expected 24 hours following sale and remainder due on delivery in person. Again, I am a private seller and will deal with a buyer with common sense and will assist with transport pick up. All costs of delivery are of course responsibility of buyer. On Mar-19-18 at 20:12:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Updated Note: I was asked how I knew where it started life. The original owner filled out the new owner registration page in the owners book (I attached a new picture of the original booklets that are in it). I won't list his name for privacy purposes, but in his own handwriting he listed the Retail delivery date as Jan or June 1998, and entry into service date as the same. He listed his home address so I was able to see its first home. That is how I know. Also, the selling dealership was Hornburg Jaguar of Los Angeles (they stamped the same page). I filed all this stuff away when I first got it and just pulled it all out to go through. Good read.
