Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike two years ago. It was in good running condition, but had rusty mufflers, leaking seals, pods and some broken plastic pieces. I fixed all this with the goal of preserving originality using Honda brand parts (new or vintage) or specifically designed replacements (David Silver replica mufflers). I also replaced brakes, shocks and battery (it had come with fresh tires, Bridgestones). I added a new battery and upgraded to Kohler regulator/rectifier using vintage style connectors and leaving original parts in place (no cut wires). It now maintains a charge on an all day ride with lights on. A Battery Maintainer comes with bike along with cover, spare parts, Vessel JIS drivers and bits. I also have the original shocks and gray tach cable, if winner wants them, just ask. Last November, I replaced sprockets and chain, it's not even ready for adjustment yet. I kept the bike in top tune, see Service Log below videos. I have had engine side covers off, but not head. It appears that a previous owner has removed the head, I have no idea what service was performed, but it was obviously done competently. The only thing on this bike that is not stock is the one piece shifter that I prefer for riding, a correct vintage linkage shifter, is included. I rode it a lot putting 5,000 miles on it. It ran great and never let me down. On the Ride video, you can see it pulling strongly to red line and then dropping cleanly to a steady 1100 idle. I've had it up to a GPS verified 75 mph in 5th without tucking, the bike had more to give, but I had had enough :) . Shifts, brakes and takes turns as expected. Check out my posts about this bike on hondatwins.net under Richard Strange, but disregard an early post where I claim the bike left me beside the road, it never did, I forgot I had killed it at the handle switch...oops. I’ve done what I wanted with this bike, had a ball and I’m leaving it better than I found it. This bike draws positive comments at every stop. This is an honest motorcycle with a clear Tennessee title and it sells to the highest bidder at the close of auction. Don't ask me to end it sooner. Knoxville is a days drive for most folks in the east and most shipping destinations will be no more than $500 (uShip, etc.). Buyer picks up bike or arranges shipping. I will meet shipper. I also have pick-up truck ramps the buyer may use or buy (separate purchase). $500 deposit by PayPal within 24 hours, full payment by cashiers check within 7 days.
