Vehicle Detail
About me... I get vehicles in all the time..some are trades, some consignments, local sellers, auctions etc.. I'm out to prove that you can be honest AND successful in this business. I have learned that people get rid of cars generally because of? Right, there's a problem...I know a LOT of flippers who get the car..do NOTHING to it except unplug the battery so the ck eng light doesn't come on until after you buy it. They roll back miles, etc.. I refuse to do that. There are a LOT of good vehicles out there and I think I can offer them at prices that are mutually beneficial to us.. Here's how this works... I get the car, I drive it for a little while in order to ascertain why they sold it.. I tell you everything I find...I offer it to you the raw unedited condition that I get it in with FULL disclosure before I repair it. Once I repair it..the game changes. If you're a mechanic or know someone who is, you can do good for yourself... ok..with that being said... here's a: 2007 Ford Expedition EL. I didn't drive it BEFORE I bought it. I got it and I drove it...Here's what I found: The good: When I first got into it, and drove it.. it was missing, I couldn't understand how it could be missing and the check engine light not be on...I went to put some gas in it and wa la.. check eng light comes on..3 blocks away..I'm pissed now because someone did the ol unplug the battery trick. Anyway, It glides down the road Kevin approved.... great heat, Interior is clean, no evidence of smoker, 4x4 walked right over the snow when we had it.."15 on the ground.. walked over it like it wasn't there. Body is Kevin approved..I'm looking for rust.. i'm sure there is some but I haven't found any yet.. Sunroof is fine,Title is clean..Pwr windows go up and down fast, pwr door locks good, Whoever had this took VERY good care of it!! Charging system works, idles right, mirrors work, a/c works, clean history. Has a DVD entertainment system Heated leather seats..this thing is loaded...Clean body, not many imperfections. Not too many things out of place. Starts right up..I can deliver it for a fee as well otherwise you must arrange shipping. The bad: There is a tear in the driver's seat see pic. The rain deflector over rear passenger door needs replaced..The check eng light is on.. I put my scanner on it here's what it says: code P0174 Bank 2 system too lean. I haven't looked in what that entails but the right side of the engine is evidently running too lean..which is why it's missing..It wants to run and the bottom end is not the problem..that's tight..It's somewhere in the top end..a sensor or something..??? the right rear fender flare needs to be taken off and re-installed see pic..cd player makes a weird sound when you turn vehicle on.. UPDATE: The mechanic says it's going to need another intake as theses intakes are plastic!! This repair is over my head, I'm gonna loose my butt on this one..No more buying without driving it first. Price will be adjusted.. Conclusion: This car is for someone who can repair or someone who has a good friend who knows how to repair vehicles. You can do really well for yourself on this one. If you were wanting one, It would be sweat equity as the parts is all you'd have to buy..Book value says it's worth over ($9,000) but not the way it's running now. I've seen them advertised for 11,000 tho..with no entertainment system. The cool part about doing stuff like this yourself is you will KNOW what's going on and don't have to guess. It's very drivable but I don't advise driving it great distances because you don't want to run the risk of ruining the cat because of all the excess fuel going into it. It'll serve you well. You go and buy one of these for say 8 grand and then it starts doing like this one did to me..then you're really ready to hurt someone. This could be a very good option for you if you're mechanically inclined or has someone who can help you do it... $500 NON refundable deposit is nec. within 24hrs of successful bid..This deal isn't for everyone..but if you can turn a wrench..this can be good for U .Thanks for your time..!!
