Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1971 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. I am the second owner and have had the car 15 years at least. The car runs and drives. Heat and AC work great (every part new for the AC, such as new compressor, hoses, condenser, etc). I had the AC "computer" control module professionally rebuilt so it's all good. As you can see in the photos I had a new top installed last summer complete with new cables, rain gutter, and top motor. I have a car cover for it too. I am including any parts I have laying around, which include not installed rubber for around the doors, front suspension bushings, and a gear reduction starter. I have new lower door skins already done in white with matching carpet along the bottom but they are not installed yet. I have a GA title as well as the original title and can provide just a bill of sale if you prefer. Here are more specifics about the car. Engine:- 507 cu Cadillac- Keith Black pistons- Jet carb (no choke)- Shaft rocker system- Oversized valve kit- Headers with dual exhaust flow masters- Five row radiator (new)- Rebuilt hood hinges- Front wheel drive Ignition and charging:- Taylor spark plug wires (new)- Optima red top battery (new)- PowerMaster alternator (new)- Electronic ignition- Ford style remote starter solenoid- Hi torque starter- 0 gauge + and - battery cables Factory installed options:- Auto climate control- Auto dimming headlights- Antilock brakes- Cornering lights- Bumper guards- 8 track tape player (not in the car I may have more than one)- Auto leveling rear suspension- Trunk release from glove box Books and documentation:- Factory shop manual (paper)- Factory shop manual (CD)- Factory body manual- AC controller manual Known issues with the car:- Glove box door needs adjusting (door is installed in the car)- Reverse lights not working- Neutral safety switch not hooked up (wires were already cut when I purchased the car go figure)- Hood needs to be adjusted on the hinges slightly- Trunk pull down doesn't seem to work- Engine won't turn over after it gets hot; turns over normal when cool- The air pump for the rear shock leveling system does not work. I have a filler valve in the trunk to manage the air in the rear shocks. I have a pump from a newer Cadillac, not installed, that will be included.- Needs paint I will be present if you should send a transporter. Car location in Dunwoody, GA (north Atlanta suburb). On Mar-01-18 at 12:13:43 PST, seller added the following information: Reserve is $4000On Mar-02-18 at 06:55:31 PST, seller added the following information: AC system components, when replaced, were upgraded to R134a. Parts came from Vintage Air: compressor, condenser, evaporator, drier, expansion valve. Blower motor replaced then also.On Mar-03-18 at 13:48:21 PST, seller added the following information: Found a trunk finishing kit, brand new never installed. This is cardboard like boards covered with black cloth that go on the inside, sides of the trunk and up by the area where the rain gutter sits. This is to make your trunk look finished. No instructions were included with the kit so you'll have to figure it out. This item is included. Also, found two Chilton's manual's (they suck) and a Big Inch Cadillac book. These are included. On Mar-04-18 at 17:09:04 PST, seller added the following information: Hood insulation pad will be included. I had it installed for a short period of time but took it down as I thought it was rubbing on the air cleaner. It's practically brand new looking. I have some of the clips to install some broke as I was de-installing it. If you don't have enough they are pretty cheap to buy. These items are included. The underhood is newly painted black, by the way.On Mar-05-18 at 17:23:59 PST, seller added the following information: Found 1 qt of Sausalito Green Firemist paint (the color of the car) never opened. Included. On Mar-06-18 at 11:29:18 PST, seller added the following information: It's come to my attention my email responses may not be going out to whomever is asking the question. Ebay keeps responding "there was a problem sending your email". Here is a question I will post with some more details:Is it rust free underneath (pics would be great) 70k original miles? Is the interior original? Notice you added a few things but mechanically are most parts original? What is the overall length of the car? Here are my answers which may interest all viewing:The car has 61,997 miles. As I am the second owner, I found this car at a storage facility and it looked abandoned. Found the owner who sold it to me an elderly lady. She said her husband bought her the car and they would drive it only on weekends. They took one trip to New Orleans (from Atlanta). After the husband died she couldn't bear to see it. So, she parked it at the storage facility and paid for it for "at least 15 years", according to the guy who ran the place. Engine has about 100 or less miles on the rebuild from about 4 years ago.The interior components like the seat frames and springs are original. A seat cover kit for USA Parts Supply was installed in the car due to the condition of the original seat covers. Carpet installed at the same time as is SILVER.The length of the car is 18.6 feet from rear bumper tip to front bumper tip (barely fits in my garage) and the wide fender to fender is 6.9 feet. Most everything is original. I changed up the interior color scheme (it was dark green originally). I have an aftermarket stereo in there (I found two 8 tracks but not sure if they work and are included). I would find extra parts at salvage yards and just grab them. The wood grain is from a '72 eldorado. It looked much nicer than the fake looking original '71 wood grain, in my opinion. The dual exhaust is different. The air pump for the rear suspension (still installed in the car) doesn't work but I am including a pump from a slightly newer Cadillac that can be retrofitted. I did change all of the window motors and the top motor as well as the door lock solenoids. On Mar-07-18 at 05:44:34 PST, seller added the following information: Added some photos of small spots of surface rust on the car.
