Vehicle Detail
For sale is an all-original non-restored 1984 black Jeep CJ-7 Laredo. This project Jeep is a barn find that has been parked for 10 years. Non-running. I was told that it was driving very well when the fuel pump went out, then parked and never driven since. I am going to describe the Jeep as accurately as possible. It is a complete restoration candidate, it is not currently running! This is a Jeep for someone who wants to do a full tune up and full restoration. I bought it sight unseen and it just needs more work than I expected- I decided that I don't have the time to restore it, unfortunately. This will make a great Jeep for someone. Everything is there and everything is fixable. The opening bid is the minimum I will take for this Jeep, so please no low-ballers. I can part it out for more than this amount, so I am giving a discount to someone to take it complete as-is, and get this awesome Jeep back on the road where it belongs. The good:Single owner for 30+ years, original South Texas CJ7Clean Texas titleExcellent carfax reportNo accidents ever, no frame or body collision damage at allGREAT patina on this Laredo. Paint is very sunbaked. When I bought it I was told the original straight six AMC 258 motor is in very good condition. Same with the 4 speed manual transmission. Several thousand dollars in value right there.Body is completely straight without major dents, dings, etc. One of the straightest CJs I have seen. Original factory antenna in the correct placementFrame is perfect and not rusty - very clean and straightNo rust under the wheel wellsAxles in good shapeDash is near mint. Uncut speaker grilles and uncut radio hole. All gauges look NICE and are stock. Including clock and tach.Odometer reads 53,355 but I have no way to confirmBrakes look clean. No pressure in the system, so they probably need to be bled. Parking brake works. It had bad aftermarket wheels when I got it, so I put on factory Renegade wheels that I had in the garage. When I had the wheels off I looked at the brakes and axles- looks very clean under there. Looks like someone had maintained this Jeep well prior to parking it.Factory Hardtop - needs one rear hatch hinge replaced. No structural damage. VERY GOOD top. At least $1500 in value for the top and steel doors alone.Gas tank looks clean and dryThe rubber body mounts are surprisingly good, in my opinionFactory matching hard doors with Laredo interior door cards/panels. Doors are straight as can be. Driver door missing small triangular window. This and the rotted windshield cowl seal is what caused the unfortunate rust in the floor pans.Power brakesPower steeringGood OEM factory original Renegade wheels with pinstripes. Mud terrain tires are old but hold air.Great condition original rocker moldings/trim All original hardwareOriginal Laredo decals/stripingEngine bay is complete as far as I can tell- everything is stock under there. No battery. Good for a project since none of the main parts are missing.Prior owner claimed the engine and transmission are strong. I obviously haven't had tried to get it running, but I have no reason to doubt that. The bad:Non-runningHeavy rust in the floorpans, some rust on hood, rust on the windshield, and rust in random other areasSome of the wiring at the fuse box was chewed by an animal and needs to be re-spliced together- not too badNo key, will need new ignition cylinder (cheap fix)Overall this Jeep is a perfect candidate to restore. It is getting very hard to find un-molested original CJ-7 Laredos anymore. This is sold as-is, where is. Ask me any questions, but this is as honest of a description as I can give. No tire kickers please, this Jeep is as advertised. If you want to contact me directly you can text me at 214-8-six-5-eight-9-three-eight. Located in Dallas, Texas. Will need to be trailered and I will be happy to meet your shipper to get it loaded up and sent off to you. Don't send an 18 wheeler because its parked in my back alley. Shipping is at buyer's expense. Clear title in hand. Will send title to the buyer and release Jeep once payment is cleared. No scams please, I won't fall for them. Wire transfer or cashiers check from a bank. No paypal. Please refer to the pictures for details on the condition of the Jeep. As you can see, the interior is in rough shape and its dirty. Seats will need to be replaced or repaired and re-covered, steering wheel is rough, driver seat is broken and there is rust in several places. Floor pans are very rusty and need to be replaced. The frame and drivetrain seem to be in very good shape though. Carb will need to be fully cleaned and rebuilt. Please let me know if you want any specific pictures. Again, this Jeep needs a full restoration! Sold as-is. Thanks
