Mechanical restoration completed in early 2017 includes new transmission and differential fluids, new U joints, new carburetor, tune up, new body bushings, new steering box, new Borgeson joint, new seals, serviced transfer case, new valve cover and exhaust manifold gaskets, new brakes, new front rotors, new master cylinder, new electrical, dropped and cleaned gas tank. Frame, leaf springs, and axles cleaned and painted. Front and rear bumpers have been straightened and painted. Rust repair completed on exterior windshield frame. Common rust areas are documented in photos and include sills, rockers, wheel wells, and interior windshield frame. Floor pan is solid to my knowledge. Dash cracks are present. Tears exist on the upper corners of the front bench seat. The fuel fill tube needs to be replaced. Interior is original to my knowledge. At some point a poor-quality blue respray was applied over the original Grenoble Green paint. This Scout is mechanically sound and runs and drives very well with smooth gear shifts. Original 345 V-8 is in excellent condition. 4 wheel drive and locking hubs are in working order.The truck sits on a 4” Rough Country lift and 33” mud terrain tires, the rears of which will need to be replaced soon, although there is plenty of tread on the fronts. Originally sold in Hobbs, New Mexico on 1/2/73, this is an honest truck that serves fine as-is, or is an excellent candidate for a full restoration. Included in the sale is an uninstalled aftermarket ARA A/C unit and compressor with its original owner’s manual. Mileage as listed cannot be confirmed as accurate. Original bill of sale is included.
