Like new, fully maintained by a BMW enthusiast. I do all my own work. I have the mechanical and automotive engineering knowledge; a 1200 sf garage w/ lift; the right tools; buy quality parts; and have the pride of ownership to keep all my cars running and looking like they came from the factory. Rear wheel drive Sportwagons only comprise about 30% of total wagon production, so they're not very common to begin with. The newer F series wagons all have the less desirable N20 straight four turbos. So finding a RWD N52N, 3.0 six cylinder with the S704A suspension pieces and having less than 40K miles is a rare combo. The M Sport Suspension option is a factory tuned set of parts which lowers the vehicle about 1.5" from stock, and provides sports car handling. It is unavailable on the AWD wagons, but be aware that some owners still try to lower them using untested non-factory kits. Many of the AWD wagons have led hard lives up in the rust belt. This is a life-long Florida car that gets waxed more than it gets washed. It has never seen snow and very little rain. There are two tiny dings, one on each doorskin that are good PDR candidates; and an 1/8th inch nick on the rear fascia. Other than that, the car is near flawless. Look at the driver's seat bolster, and the rims; they always tell the story. Yes I know the KKB values. And yes I am asking top dollar. But finding one this well maintained with such low mileage is getting more difficult every day. This Sportwagon was gong to be its replacement. But at 72 years old, the drop is too low, and the sport is too sporty. If I was forty years younger, coming out of a hot hatchback like a Honda or GTI; this would be my next step up in power, comfort and style. It's a sportscar hiding inside a station wagon.
