This is a very well serviced vehicle and looked after example of one of the few remaining Passat still cruising on the highways. This is a rare and most sought after TDI model. There were less then 1000 - 1996 Passat TDI wagons released into the US market in the only two years that the Passat was offered with a TDI manual trans drivetrain. Arguably considered by enthusiasts as the most reliable & trouble free drivetrains ever available in the TDI models this one boasts a 25 gal fuel tank (largest ever for a passenger vehicle) and had more interior cargo volume then the only other TDI Passat wagon that was released here in the US market in 2004 & 5 when they were only offered with auto transmissions. This Passat gets - 37 city / 45 highway. This Passat TDI has a range of more than 800 miles. The engine is a 1.9 L 4-cylinder diesel. The torque is 149 lb-ft. Horsepower is 90. hp. Curb weight is 3,009 to 3,175 lbs. Fuel tank is 18.5 gallons. The rear seats split-fold forward, expanding the already impressive 14 cubic feet of trunk space, and the firm front buckets come with height and lumbar adjustments.
