Vehicle Detail
1978 Ford F150 Ranger LariatThis has the 302 Engine, Automatic Transmission and Two Wheel Drive.Lariat Package has the more deluxe interior, more chrome trim, Chrome bumpers, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM Stereo, Tinted Glass, power steering, power brakes and more.Changes from stock are reupholstered seat, running boards, bed rail caps, rear chrome bumper, dual exhaust with chrome tips exit under rear bumper.Oregon truck from day one. Original owner had this till 92. He purchased it in 8/21/78, my Father purchased from the second owner in 06, and I from my Father in 16. The history shows that it has had four mature owners. Miles are documented with service records. Have warranty card and drivers manual.Major work: Original owner had the engine assembly replaced at 69088 in 05/22/87. Truck was sold 11/3/92 to second owner with 96473 miles. Third owner does complete tune up and checkout , replaces shocks, valve cover gaskets, belts etc on 05/03/2006 with miles at 109899. I had the carb rebuilt 08/15/16, spare tank switch replaced and steering box tightened in 08/16 and the power brake assembly replaced at 08/17. All documentation on hand. The body is very straight, there is no rust, and never wrecked. Interior is in great shape for a forty year old vehicle. Paint is all factory and shines up with a buff, and there are a scratches that have accumulated over the years. But all in all, very presentable. I have been driving this to work and back, off and on, and always get positive comments. The engine fires right up, automatic choke works as intended. Jump in, tap the pedal, turn key and she lights right up, let her warm up a bit and tap the pedal and she settles down to a nice mellow rumble with the twin pipes. I like to drop the tilt wheel and steering is great for a forty year old truck.. Drop it in gear without hesitation. Trans is tight with zero slippage. Shocks are great, steering is great and brakes are working as intended with no pulling. What needs to be done: This truck was babied and garaged until I got her. She deserves to be garaged again. the weather is hard on the door rubber, and I would replace that. The tires are 10 years old and have a minimum tread.. It just did not get driven that much to ever make it to the front burner, and no one that has owned her has had the desire to run anything but hubcaps from the factory. All documentation and paperwork goes to the next owner to help preserve the unique history of this truck. I will be able to answer questions and will make viewing available as best I can. I am able to e-mail pictures of anything you want to see.
