Vehicle Detail
I FORGOT TO MENTION. THE TWO MISSING REAR TRIM PIECES HAVE BEEN SOURCED AND ARE ON THE CAR. I WILL RESHOOT THE CAR LATER THIS WEEK SHOWING THE PIECES OR IF ANYINE NEEDS PICS SOONER, I CAN HAVE THE SHOP SEND. A HUGE THANKS TO JEFF CARTER AT JCAUTO FOR SAVING THE DAY WITH THESE HARD-TO-FIND PARTS!!!! Factory white 1961 Chrysler 300 G Hard Top with factory air conditioning and lots of other great options I purchased this car out of an estate where it sat in a dry and heated garage for several years. Some pictures of the car are exactly how I found it and then several others from after I was done with it. I've done a full rehab service to it and the car now runs and drives well. Included in the rehab is the following: Fuel system flushTransmission out service and flushFull brakes including every part inspected, rebuilt or replacedCarb adjustmentsExtensive road testing and sorting This is a numbers matching Chrysler 300G Hard Top that was restored I would guess, in the late 1980's to early 1990's. The quality of the restoration is very good considering the time and the fact that the car was not worth much during that era. It appears that all paint, chrome and trim was done as was the interior including dash pad and instruments. The car had rust in its rear fenders and as such, the lower halves have been replaced. There is no evidence of any other rust or rust repair on the entire car. I've focused my pictures on the underside of the car to support my claim. I can get many more exterior shots for any interested buyer. You can't tell the lower rears have been done unless the car is on a lift. Cosmetically, the car appears as a 20 or so year old well-cared-for restoration. The paint and trim are quite good but the paint does have imperfections. The chrome is excellent and trim is straight as well. The panel fit and door gaps are excellent. They are certainly to factory standards if not better. The lights and lenses are all original and not reproductions. The glass is also excellent original but the windshield was replaced. The car looks very nice and there is absolutely NO visible evidence of the rear fender replacement when looking at the car on the ground. The work was good, just not what they do today when restoring cars. The interior is excellent. The only issue is the use of a different seat pattern on the seats themselves. This is likely due to the unavailability of correct material with the proper pleating during the restoration. The seat patterns are correct for an H (one year later model). Aside from this, the rest of the materials are correct. The dash pad is a reproduction in perfect condition. The engine bay was show detailed at some point. It is still very presentable. The battery is a brand new modern battery with a faux cap top to appear as an original style. The undercarriage has its original sound deadener and is solid. There is no rust on the frame and only a spot of rust on the inner fender on the passenger rear side. Both outer panels have been replaced and can be seen when the car is on the lift. The rockers and front panels are solid, rust free originals. The car had not been moved for several years so it required much work when I received it. As you can see from the photos, the car is on wheel rollers because the rear brakes were locked up. We did a full brake job on the car including master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes and drums on all four wheels. All of the brake lines were re-run as well. The booster is a non-fluid style (correct for the car) and required clean up only. The transmission was removed, cleaned, linkages adjusted and re-installed. The fluids were chanced, fuel flushed and the car started. The shop has tuned it and it runs and drives well now. The tires are radials with plenty of tread and the car was used regularly until about five years ago so I did not replace the tires. The instrumentation functions well...I suspect it was rebuilt at the time of restoration. Currently, the car is going through sorting to be ready for reliable longer distance touring. I've spent a lot of time and money making this car right. You can confidently expect a well-sorted reliable running and driving car that looks nice as well. If you are looking for a nice clean driver to enjoy, this is a great choice. I welcome inspections throughout the sale. I am completely available for questions, inspections and discussion. Let me know if you would like pictures are any other details. I've priced the car very fairly and need to sell to make room for my next project.
