Happy New Year! If you think you recognize this car, you are right. I "sold" this before the Christmas holidays, but the buyer was unable to arrange for transfer and asked for me to just relist it. So now, his loss is your second chance. My wife purchased this 1969 Camaro in a much different state of being for me about 15 years ago. Yeah, she's that cool. We drove it home, I changed the rear brake shoes, drove it a couple of times, and started the restoration process. Then it sat. Life got in the way. About 7 years ago, after a household move, I started back up again, dismantling the car further (front end sheet metal). We striped the sheet metal down to bare metal and repainted it the current color - 1976 Corvette Yellow ( Fisher body plate showed original color was hugger yellow which she didn't like that). I purchased the supplies to redo the interior (seat foam, covers, carpet, headliner, shelf package, door panels, pillar post covers, misc hardware, etc.) There are still things to pick up here or there, but the car comes with all that listed above for sure. This is a project car in the middle of the reassembly. I'm pretty certain the front fenders need some adjustment and the right rear quarter panel is not fully tucked into the rocker panel - you wouldn't even notice it if you weren't told. It was like that when I purchased it, and the body guy didn't notice either - looks right. Car guys I know and have looked at it over the years never pick up on it. I didn't care - It was going to be my daily driver '69! The car has the original 307 drivetrain as best I could tell trying to match up the numbers (It's been like 10 years since I did that so I'm going off memory). The engine worked great and with some reconditioning after sitting so long I'm sure it will hum better than ever. My guess though is if you're buying a '69 you already have a 396 or 454 sitting in the corner waiting to replace that little 307 ;-) The transmission needs a rebuild. Forward gears were great, but reverse was starting to make noises (works, but noisy). It was going to visit the transmission shop once I had it put back together. There are Weld racing rims on the front and back. The previous owner planned to make it an SS look-alike and put skinny tires up front. What an idiot. Don't get me started. All I'll say is the previous paint job looked like it was brushed on. The new one doesn't. The car came with factory air, but the compressor, condenser, etc. all need to be added back if you want it. The trunk is solid. I have the front grille as well as front bumper. The bumpers are the originals. There is no front windshield. I also have quite a bit of the original exterior chrome trim (around front and rear windows, tail lights, etc). The car is all metal. New floorboards welded in, new passenger door, new front fender. The firewall is solid - not like many of them that have rusted away over time and cause issues. The odometer says 17,619 but who knows, right? Given floor pans were replaced, my guess is another "1" goes in front of that, and even that is no guarantee as with any classic car. As I mentioned I have quite a few items for the interior that come with the car, but you will definitely need to still buy things to complete the car - no one should bid thinking that you are getting everything you need to finish up a car in this great shape at this low of a price. So why am I selling? The wife. Still. She says make it gone or she will. First, she's been on my a$$ to finish it up or sell it for the better of 7 years. A man can only be so strong. And second, we all have our honey do lists. Mine is to finish a basement, a bedroom, 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. She wonders why I don't have it all put back together?! So this one has got to go. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due upon close of auction. Your bidding serves as agreement to this. You are responsible to have it picked up. I am more than happy to help get it and all the extra supplies I have loaded up. Given the season, I'm willing to work with you on shipping, but anything over 10 calendar days past close of auction requires full payment by cashiers check and I will send you the title once the check has cleared. Of course, the wife would prefer you pick it up next day so she can reclaim a parking spot in the garage. :- )
