I bought this bike thinking I would have more time to enjoy it but I run my own shop so Im glued here most of the time. I bought this bike from a really nice older man who was forced to sell it due to some medical bills. This bike was his baby and when I bought it he gave me all the extra parts and seals and etc. The tags ran out in 10/14 but he still rode it around a little. I bought it earlier this year and when I got it I cleaned the carbs out, put a new battery in it and it runs great and have not had to touch it. He put some aftermarket pegs on it but I still have the original if you wanted to swap them out. The bike only shows 12,781 on the odometer but the first two numbers are kinda in the middle so its hard to read. This bike looks to be the original pearl white color to me and there are no dents on the bike. The rear fender that's on it has some little fiberglass cracks due to age but it is normal on these. The other fender is metal and also has a metal rack on top and is in great shape if you wanted to swap them. The tank has the usual riding scratches on the sides where your legs rub but other then that this bike looks amazing for being 41 years old. The Ferring is a DON VESCO and is in great shape. The side bags are KRAUSER Hard Bags that pop off in seconds. Zeuna Exhaust that sounds great.The side plastics need that little rubber gorment that the 1 piece pops in it to hold it on, probably less then 10 dollars new. The tires are good and being that its a shaft driven bike it rides much smoother then having a chain and sprocket set up. The front brakes need bleeding they have air in them I believe. Overall this is a very nive vintage BMW motorcycle that has been taken extremely good care of and been garaged. The powertrain on this bike is like new, it runs great. I grew up on motorcycles since I was 5 and never owned a BMW bike so it was cool just to say Ive rode and owned one and its another conversation piece down the rode. These bikes are really neat and you gotta appreciate the engineering on these things and all the cool factors and better quality steering components. They were way ahead of there time and did a fine job building these R900!!! These bikes are very collectible and will be nice retirement plans later in life when you need to sell.
