Vehicle Detail
This very rare motorcycle is in great condition and would be an asset to any collection. (as it has to mine) Completely stock as it arrived from the factory with its shiny original paint that is in remarkable condition for its age. The Smoked Burgundy paint is difficult to replicate and other restored examples I have seen failed miserably to get it right. This motorcycle appears and presents just like the original promo photo. (although with a bit of patina) Standard Features on this model are:Marzocchi shocksBing Type 94 CV CarbsHard luggage Bags by SigmaFairing by Brearly Smith All chrome is excellent. Hard Bags lock and seal well. No mechanical faults. Runs and idles perfectly, even from a cold start. I have recently installed an improved starter clutch (sprag clutch) so the new owner can enjoy many years of reliable starting. Also recently replaced with OEM parts:Front Master CylinderFront Brake linesFinal drive chainRebuilt carbs There are a few cosmetic things that would need to be addressed to make this machine perfect. Paint chip on front of gas tank where fairing bracket made contact. There are some quite deep scratches on the hard bags and paint bubbling on the rear lid that will not polish out. These were damaged in storage and not the result of an accident. I have not polished the alloy for a while so a bit of elbow grease may be required. The alloy itself is in perfect condition.Other than that this bike would pass any inspection. I have been proud to own and ride this machine. In 2014 I rode this bike from Chicago to Wilmington NC fully loaded at highway speeds (see photo) and all that was needed when I got there was to tighten the chain. AND it was comfortable for a 60 year old. I have used it regularly since then just to put around town. Current NADA values this bike at $8380Hagerty's Values it at $9000Kelly Blue book has no idea really. I value it at what it brings at this auction. Bidding starts at $5500 which would be a bargain!! I will work with your shipper to ensure safe loading.International bidders are welcome.I am an Australian living in the USA so shipping to AUS is a breeze. Budget for just over $1000 + gst. I'm thinning my collection so will shortly be listing my 1973 "Jaffa" Z1 Kawasaki and my bar hopper 1958 Harley Panhead. Getting married..... what can I say!! Happy bidding folks!!
