1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible original 427-390 hp (L36). Presently has a '68 corvette 427-390 hp engine. It has its original 4-speed transmission and rear. Also has power steering and factory sidepipes (missing covers). Original color and trim was Milano Maroon on black vinyl. Has new uninstalled Al Knoch's white seat covers. Soft top appears to have been changed and seems to be in good condition. Top is also white. Body has been professionally paint stripped and is in good shape. Car does need a right rear quarter panel; as well as a couple of small pieces glued in place. Car is originally from Florida and the frame and birdcage are structurally sound. However, from sitting 28 years in a damp warehouse, frame and suspension have surface rust. Ideally, the body should be removed from the frame and the chassis and suspension sandblasted and painted. Although the engine ran well before being stored, it should be opened and inspected before attempting to be restarted. While the majority of the parts to complete the car are included in the sale; as with any restoration project, there are a number of parts that will need to be acquired. Among those are the bumpers, radiator and sidepipe covers. While the car requires a complete restoration; as an authentic big block 1966 Corvette, it's a project that will be well worth the investment.
