Vehicle Detail
I purchased this 1926 Ford Model T out of an estate. The gentleman that owned the car purchased it in the 1970s and drove it in parades. His wife said he got busy and parked the car in the 1980s in the concrete-floor garage that was attached to the house. The car did not move from that time until this year. The motor seems to have good compression. The body is very solid for the year. The wood in the wheels is in great shape. I have not attempted to start it. I have located a '39 Chevy that I want to purchase next year, and I need the storage room. I have a clear Ohio title in my name. The mileage is stated as non-actual because there never was an odometer. The vehicle rolls fine, and the tires are up, so it is easy to load. Two forms of payment will be accepted. Either a certified bank check or cash at pick up. If paying by check, funds will need to clear my bank before I will release the vehicle. My bank typically puts a seven-business-day hold on checks. I will not ship. If shipping is required, it will be the sole responsibility of the successful bidder to make arrangements. I can assist with loading. There is a tractor on site if needed. Please do not ask me to stop the auction early, as I am letting the auction run for the duration. Thanks for your interest. Good luck, and happy bidding. On Nov-13-17 at 07:49:40 PST, seller added the following information: I have had an inquiry about whether the motor is original to the car. After checking the motor number against the frame number and researching both numbers, I have concluded that the motor was produced in September 1921. The body was produced in April 1926. The VIN that appears on the title is a 1926 motor number that was produced in May of that year. Therefore the VIN on the title - because it went to the original motor - does not match the motor from 1921. The body number is off by two digits from the VIN, which was common during this time, because the body and motor were produced one month apart. Also, I failed to mention that the passenger rear door glass needs to be replaced. If this car is sold in Ohio, the Ohio title I have in my name can be used to register the car. I spoke to the DMV, and the number on the title is traced back to an Ohio registration from 1970. If someone out of the state of Ohio is the successful bidder, I am sure some additional inspection would need to be done before you would be able to register the vehicle in your state. Since finding out this new information, I have adjusted the reserve to compensate for this. I am told by an expert on Model T's that it is common for the motor to have been replaced on these cars. Thanks for your interest.
