Vehicle Detail
Thank you for looking at my vehicle's listing - Lucky for you, even though this car was up for sale the weekend before last on eBay, unfortunately the high bidder was unable to come up with the money to pay for his purchase - so now it's up for a second chance sale this week! Bid with confidence, this car wants to be sold - it just needs a good home to go to and someone who is ready with the money to buy it! *Please read this listing from top to bottom, as I have hopefully answered all of your questions here in the listing, but if you still have questions, feel free to ask me before bidding on the car or pressing the buy it now button. You will need a Paypal Account to bid - the deposit needs to be received immediately after the auction closes and should be submitted to me through Paypal.com via this eBay listing. If you don't have a Paypal account, please call me with your offer and your purposed instant payment method to arrange the deposit prior to bidding so that I can decide if that'll work in the event that you win the auction or before the buy it now is activated - as telling me you'll "drop the 'check' is in the mail" at some point before trying to pick it up, will not be approved - I accept Paypal, cash in person, various forms of other digital/online payments or wire transfers only - though I prefer instant online payments for the sale of this car for both the buyer and the seller's peace of mind while trying to expedite the finishing touches to finalize the transaction. If you have a Buy It Now Best Offer Price you'd like to purpose to me, please message me with your offer, if your offer is less than the Buy It Now Price asked in the listing, let me know why you'd like to make a lower offer than the Buy It Now Price. (Please note any offers below the current auction bid price will not be considered, however, any offers above the current auction bid price will be considered - just so we don't waste our time). This car is also listed locally and I reserve the right to end this auction early if a credible offer is received and accepted by me. With that said, if it seems like I might end the auction early, I will notify any and all current bidders in advance of accepting an offer so they may have an opportunity to send me their final offers through auction bid or buy it now options on eBay (if the auction bid is the same as the buy it now price, the auction is over). A little background about the sell of this car prior to re-listing it this week (excluding the previous eBay bidder who was unable to pay this past week): For those of you competing for cars out there, here's where things are at right now - thus far, I've only heard three offers (locally), one was good, but the potential buyer's funds were not; one offer wasn't fantastic, and even though I can see how some money will need to be spent on the paint job, I still need a bit more than this person's offer in order to recoup at least some of my losses on the mechanical costs I've invested in this car ... and well, one (offer???) was just so low-ball that it was basically an insult to 124 Spider Lovers everywhere and I won't consider letting it go for less than scrap metal prices (so please don't do this with your offer) - so now I'm listing it on eBay to try and recoup at least half of my investment in this car since I can no longer finish the project due to unforeseen circumstances. The Buy It Now Price is basically half of my parts costs less the average price of what it might cost a potential buyer to ship this car "potentially" all the way across the country if the buyer needs to use a car transport service (As for shipping: 1) The shipping arrangements and pick-up fees are the sole responsibility of the buyer and should be scheduled and paid for in advance by the winning bidder (though I do have a few contacts who come through the area where the car is located who are also recommended by eBay U-Ship if you need a few suggestions on who to call to deliver the car to you); 2) Yes, this car will start when it is moved and it doesn't need the extra charge applied by the car shipper for not running - for those of you who know about shipping cars). If you have any questions about the vehicle, call 917-720-6394 to leave a message with your inquiries, as well as the best contact information and time to reach you and I will return your call as soon possible or send me a message through eBay. This car is being Sold As-Is in an Auction with No Reserve and with an accompanying option to Buy It Now. If you win the vehicle, please send a $500 DEPOSIT at the end of the auction ending time. The REMAINING BALANCE MUST BE PAID WITHIN THREE (3) DAYS of the Auction Ending Time either through Paypal, by Cash (if you're in the area), via Wire Transfer (if you have no other alternatives), P2P Banking Instant Payments via ChaseQuickPay, Zelle, etc (sent via email instant payment from person to person, usually offered through most major banks and credit unions with checking account services such as Chase, BofA, WellsFargo, etc.); I also accept BTC, ETH, or LTC. ****Please note, no personal or paper checks of any kind are accepted via the mail or FedEx nor UPS, nor any other physical address delivery service (I DO NOT ACCEPT paper checks of any kind as payment for the car - sorry, but I've just been burned too many times by these), however E-Checks, Online Electronic Funds Transfers (just in general), and person-to-person (checking account to checking account) Online (EFT) Electronic Funds Transfers (also P2P Mobile Payments too) are accepted (and preferred) through online banking or Paypal or CoinBase. Please contact me once the deposit has been made immediately following the auction's close so we can work out the paperwork and the buyer's vehicle pick-up details. The buyer is responsible for vehicle pick-up and or shipping at their own expense and the car must be schedule to be picked up by the winning bidder or their car shipping service (pick-up or delivery fees are not included in the final auction price) and the buyer should be prepared to TAKE POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE NO LATER THAN THE SEVENTH (7TH) DAY AFTER THE AUCTION CLOSES (Please Note: this car is sitting in a locked and fully enclosed indoor storage unit that it needs to move out of soon - so, it definitely has to be picked up by the winning bidder or their car transportation service no later than by the 7th day after this auction ends (if there are extenuating circumstances for some reason, let's chat - but no matter what, it has to be moved). While the winning bidder needs to arrange for shipping the car to themselves, I'm happy to give you the names of a few car transport services that come through this area at least a couple of times a week if you need help finding someone to ship the car to you (though you can get a ball park figure of the shipping fees in advance if you get an online quote from the car's zip location in the border area of 97322/97321 zip code area of Albany, Oregon to your own zip code location prior to bidding on the car or making a Buy It Now purchase or messaging me an offer. The U-Ship service and the names I have of Car Shippers are all recommended by eBay's U-Ship car shipping services link on this page. Please note - The Title to the car, copies of the receipts for any parts/services performed on the car, and any and all other paperwork, manuals, etc will be shipped to your physical shipping address via Certified USPS 2nd-Day Air with Signature Required ONLY AFTER your full payment for the car has been received and has been cleared/posted by the bank as good funds for purchasing the car. (no exceptions) This car is being SOLD AS-IS, with no refunds, guarantees and or warranties either expressed and or implied - which means the buyer is responsible for any and all repairs and that it is the buyer's responsibility to ask questions and to inspect the car before bidding. Once you buy it - it's yours. When you view the pictures of the vehicle, make sure you look at them on a large screen to ensure that you can see all the attributes of the car. If you are nearby and would like to look at the car in person or if you have any questions, please contact me directly prior to bidding. Please note that once you bid on the auction or place a buy it now offer on this listing you are entering a binding agreement to pay for the car as per the terms outlined in this listing. If you have any questions about the transaction, please do not hesitate to ask me before you bid on the car. I'm happy to answer all of your questions. Also, please make sure that eBay (and the seller) has the correct contact information on your account prior to bidding on the car, as I will need your Full Name, your Correct Physical Mailing Address for the Title, your BEST PHONE NUMBER so I can call and or text message you after the auction ends to help expedite the processing with the details of getting the car on it's way (I have to be there to open the storage unit if you use a car shipper) and the title/paperwork to you as soon as the payment in full is received (namely if you are shipping the car to yourself) and I DEFINITELY NEED YOUR CORRECT EMAIL ADDRESS - so please make sure to include all of that information in a message to me via eBay immediately after the auction ends if you are the winning bidder or the successful eBay "Buy It Now" Buyer. This will help the transaction go quickly and smoothly for both the buyer and the seller. Offered for auction today is a 1977 Fiat Spider 124 (1800) Convertible. This 1977 is known as the "Sport Spider" with an Original Weber 32 ADFA Carburetor (rare find) and a rebuilt 1756cc engine. I bought this vehicle in 1993 with 23,045 miles on the odometer and in the current pictures, it has 31,986 (though I still take it for short drives, 1-2 mile drives, each week to keep things moving and it just rolled over 32,000 this past weekend). The odometer is believed to be accurate, as the previous owner was said to be the original owner of the car. This car has a clean title. Also included is a Like-New Color Copy/Glovebox Book of the 1977 Fiat "Sport Spider" 124 (1800) Original Owner's Manual offered through The Fiat of North America Motor Company. This vehicle has received approximately $7900 worth of new parts and upgrades, including from this year (2017):An ignition conversion from the old unreliable points ignition system to a reliable New Pertronix Ignitor II Electronic Ignition System with the corresponding Flame Thrower II upgraded ignition coil to go with new spark plugs and new spark plug wires. The Weber 32 ADFA carburetor was also rebuilt and it received a full tune-up earlier this spring (2017). The car starts easily and runs ok once it is warmed up, though as with all Fiats, regular tune-ups are recommended when the weather changes. Approximately 30 feet of old engine hoses were also replaced with New Steel Braided High-performance Engine Hoses earlier this year at the same time. Cloth Canvas Top Waterproofing Treatment.New Taillight Seals and upgraded rewiring.New Turn Signal, Taillights, and Parking Light BulbsAll new fuses and refurbishing of the fuse boxNew Fuel and Air Filters, new fuel lines.New wiring on the coolant system.NOTES: It will need a new battery at some point, however, the current battery is still charging and working at the moment (but expires next year). These include Approximately 6-7 feet of steel braided high-performance unused engine hoses, chrome decorative plate for the interior driver's door, the rearview mirror, wing-window latch, four (4) 13" Original Wheels with tires (the car also has a 13" spare tire in the trunk with a jack), spare spark plug wire, spare spark plugs, extra ignition coil, the original points ignition system (with condensers) that was removed and replaced on the car, spare carburetor gaskets and other spare Weber 32 ADFA parts for maintenance, and I can also email you digital copies of at least four other Fiat Mechanic's Shop Manuals for working on the car (including detailed pictures and diagrams) that are the original works of the Fiat of North America Motor Company so you can work on the car and know what you're doing (many other manuals make it a guessing game - these are approximately 900+ pages of everything you need to know to keep this car running smoothly), and I think there are some extra fuses and odds and ends for it too. As you can see in the pictures, the paint has faded a bit over time (vs. the way it used to look when the paint was new a few years back - also included in the pictures) - and even though it has always been stored inside while I've owned it (and is currently stored in a fully enclosed interior RV storage unit until it sells), much like all of the other Spider 124's, it does have a few rust spots and some interior cosmetic work that needs to be completed to make this car sparkle again (please note the orange on the hood is spraypaint that was put on there only to prevent rusting while I was working on the mechanical parts). This is a super fun car to drive around and as you can see, the mechanical aspects of the car have had a lot of work, but the "pretty" factor needs to be restored and that is why I'm selling it on eBay for as much as I can get back out of what I have into it in parts because I no longer have a place to restore the rest of it. So, it's a great little project for someone who loves these cars! Please note, this is as comprehensive of a list as I can think of to write about the car, but if you have any further specific questions (or if you're nearby and would like to see the car in person), please ask questions prior to bidding. Thank you for looking and happy bidding!
