I purchased this March 2017 and have only driven it for 3000 miles. Custom built by Vintage Speedsters in Long Beach, CA - on of the best in the business. Period correct Porsche black with a stunning cognac interior. High performance air cooled twin carb 1915CC upgraded engine with desirable 3.88 manual high ratio 4 speed transmission with highway gearing known as the "Freeway Flyer" that makes driving on the freeway super fun. I did have a bluetooth stereo installed under the dash - without putting any holes in the car so that you can listen to music and an amp has been installed to boost the sound. Upgraded to standard whitewall tires and headlamp grills. It is built on an original 1962 VW pan with professionally modified frame using a jig welded 11 gauge rigid steel reinforced structure. The gorgeous body was assembled using hand-laid reinforced fiberglass and the doors, deck like and hood are pre-hung and custom fit to each other. Complete with a fold-away cocoa soft top and side glass panels and a boot for the soft top. Front disc brakes for reliable stopping power. Period correct porsche style hubcaps. Coco mats for a vintage look and feel. Porsche horn button and period correct banjo steering wheel. Dual exhaust with a great throaty rumble. Billet type pedals and a short throw shifter. German grill badging. Period correct German style gauges in kilometers - tach, engine temp and fuel - all work properly. It is registered and clean titled in CA simply as a "1962 Volk", therefore considers a historial/vingtage vehicle which means it is smog exempt and can be insured as a classic car. You'll get lots of attention and as much as I hate to sell it, I really don't have a choice. Buyer arranges and pays for pick-up & transporation from its Los Angeles location.
