1961 Dodge Dart Phoenix Convertible - No Reserve This car was originally purchased as a restoration project, and has been in storage for approximately 7 years. I was told by the previous owner that it has a 361 big block from a 1961 Newport, but have not confirmed that. The car idles rough, and blows smoke when running. It will move in forward/reverse by using the push button gear selector. The brakes do not work, so the car may not be driven on the road and may also be difficult to load/unload from a trailer. The emergency brake does operate at this time. The convertible top needs at least a rear window, and may possibly need replacement. It will move up and down with help. At some point, it appears that somebody cut notches into the rear frame rails to access the forward spring bolts. The rocker panels are rusted through, there appears to be a hole in the passenger side floor pan, and I was told by the previous owner that the quarter panels and at least one door has fiberglass in it. I noticed some rust underneath behind the right rear wheel - a picture has been added to show this. The car is sold strictly as is, and comes with some extra parts: various trim, knobs, seals, grille, left & right forward look emblems, replacement rocker panels, and a transmission. I have not verified the fitment of these extra parts. I have done my best to give an accurate description based on what I know about this car. This is a project vehicle, and will require work before it can be safely operated. THERE IS NO WARRANTY.New York issues transferable registrations for 1972 and older vehicles. I am in possession of the transferable registration, and it is in my name. The car is located in Colden, NY if you wish to conduct a pre-purchase inspection. The balance must be paid by cash or bank check, and is due within 7 days of auction close. If paying by bank check, funds must clear before the car is released.
