2009 Jetta TDI automatic, black, sunroof, power windows, black leather interior VIN: 3VWRL71K19M067253 CLEAN TITLE 152,775 miles. This car is running and driving fine, however there are a few things that need fixing up. The front struts are getting worn and will likely need to be replaced soon. the car still drives and handles fine, however I have been advised by mechanic the front struts will need to be replaced at some point. The rocker panels (the body metal below the doors) are rusted and the paint has peeled off in sections of the panels (see photos) The metal has actually rusted through in some spots on the rocker panels (see photos) in both the front and rear of panels, on both sides of the car. This may need to be repaired in order to meet local state safety inspection. The check engine light is on. Here is what the local VW dealer said about the check engine light: "The exhaust pressure control valve is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced. The technician checked for excessive soot in the tailpipe, excessive soot is present. The DPF cracked internally and has filled the EGR filter with soot which is restricting the flow of the EGR system, to correct this the DPF and EGR filter needs to be replaced, the EGR cooler should be cleaned with brake clean during this repair. Please note that all the components that are faulty causing the check engine light at this time will be replaced during the TDI emissions modification" There is some paint peeling on the fenders above the front wheel wells, with some rust (see photos) and some paint bubbling and rust on the trunk near the hatch door hande. The local VW dealer said this corrosion is covered under warranty, since this is apparently a manufacturing defect, (however the corrosion on the rocker panels is not covered under warranty because the rocker panels had been re-painted) Other small cosmetic issues is there is a burn mark on the back of the passengers seat (see photos), there is also a burn spot in the ash tray near the cigarette lighter, and the carpet on the floor near the gas pedal is worn through (see photos) in a small spot. Other than these issues, the car is still running and driving just fine. About the TDI emissions settlement: This car is a part of a recall and legal settlement, where Volkswagen is buying these cars back or offering to fix the exhaust/emissions problems. This car has not been sold back or modified. The exhaust and emissions is still in original condition. As the current owner of this car, I have decided not to get involved in the legal settlement, so I'm selling this car here on Ebay instead.
