I had dreams of doing a complete restoration on this 1971 BMW 2002, but realized after purchasing the car that I didn't have the time nor space to do the project to the quality I desired. I bought this car a year and a half ago from a BMW 2002 restoration / sales shop in LA called 2002ad. Since the car drove great I drove from LA to Oregon in one day, and that's where the car is now. It's not in perfect condition, but for me what was important was that it was the perfect restoration project. It drives really well, and I've had it as a daily driver for the past year and a half. All of the lights / signals work, brakes, transmission - it's in amazing condition for being so old. There are small rust spots (photos attached) in good areas! For example, under the original spare tire in the trunk it's completely dry. The underside of the car looks great. Before purchasing I put it on a lift with a BMW service manager to inspect with me. This car is pretty much all original as far as I know. I've changed nothing. The odometer is stuck on 64,000 miles and was that way when I purchased the car. Authenticity has been really important for me. I want this car to go to someone who will treat it really well and improve it to original standards.
