Even though it was not necessary, while the front of the engine was apart anyway for the new timing belt, I had a new water pump installed as well. My Mazda Tech(mechanic to us old guys) who is fantastic, and my absolutely lovely service advisor told me, "This engine is incredibly clean inside". But I already knew that. This MX-5 has NEVER been in an accident, and has always been in Florida(she would not know what to do if she ever saw snow). The last time this car was out was 04-08-17 when she took my wife and I with top down to the National Miata Palooza in Tampa Florida.
