Here is a NO RESERVE AUCTION for a Savana 3500 extended 15 passenger van with RARE sliding side door. I purchased it two weeks ago to haul around my large brood of children. However, my persnickety wife (the brood task-master and chauffeur) ended up wanting a cleaner model, so I subsequently purchased a newer Ford E-350 (seen in photos). Personally, I prefer the Savanas/Express's because they are better looking, ride more like a car, don't have the rear wheel well in the way of the walkway and have the extra storage space in the rear. These vans are super hard to find for under $8K - regardless of year and mileage. However, you can probably pick this one up here for thousands less. Be sure to research this particular year (2003) as it was the most important single year for improvements. Actually, I've been told that the 2003 Savana/Express are more or less the same as the 2017's. This is a sleek, rock solid VORTEC beast to lug your kids to school, soccer, Chic-Fil-A and grandma's - and with a body and chassis in this condition, it will be well worth rebuilding the engine and tranny (when it comes to that) to keep this baby on the road for many, many years. What I've done: Topped off steering fluid and coolant (oil and transmission fluids were full and clean)Changed air filterTouched up paintReplaced windshield The GOOD:Overall exterior, chassis and mechanical condition are goodBrilliant original paint with VERY straight bodyRecords shows no accidentsNo detection of rustNo check engine or warning lights are illuminatedStrong engine - idles and accelerates quietly and smoothly at all timesStrong transmission - shifts quietly and smoothly through all gearsVan brakes strongly, smoothly and with no pullingSuspension appears to be in good working orderNo noises or vibration upon making slight or full turns to either sideAll gauges show operational efficiency, including when the van is under heavy load (I took the van on two long road trips, one to the mountains with 15 people total - this is a solid van) All power options work (windows, door locks, cruise, etc.) as well as other electrical equipment (A/C, heat, lights, signals, etc.)The "BAD":Overall interior condition is fair to slightly rough (see photos, the worst of the carpet is covered by a nice rubber mat) Missing some interior trim parts, including a sun visor and the middle console storage bin (see some examples in photos - not exhaustive) A bench seat safety belt receiver needs attention Brakes have made a subtle grinding noise on two occasions at the point of coming to a full stopSliding side door opens and closes freely, but may need a roller pin changed in order to be perfectStereo works, but needs attention (see photo, was not installed correctly)A/C blows cold, but not ice cold, probably at 85% Has small fluid leak - my hunch is power steering as it of the three was the only one that needed topping off.
