Vehicle Detail

Up for sell is a 1955 Chevrolet 150 Two door post. It was built as a six cylinder and three speed transmission. It runs and drives. It is a pretty solid car in driver/project condition. The body is pretty straight. I have owned the car for approximately eight years. I have many parts for it. It is showing 59467 for the milage. The car is in Summit Racing Black Urethane Primer. No rips or tears in the factory seats. No headliner. It now features a New/Rebuilt 383 motor and a rebuilt Saginaw 4 speed Transmission. Approximately 500 miles in the engine and 1000 miles on the transmission. The car has power brakes and manual steering. It had a 305 in it when I bought it. It starts and runs every time. The battery has been moved from the firewall to the trunk, plastic battery box, +/- 1 gauge (welding wire) cables and a solenoid switch mounted on the firewall. It has a kill switch in the trunk. New starter switch & new GM high torque starter. The heater box removed and painted. New heater core installed. The heater controls serviced and the cables were replaced. The head lights are sealed H-4 lights with relays but could be returned to glass sealed beams in an hour. A Raingear wiper system was installed and new stainless wiper arms. It has a leather wrapped Impala steering wheel and a Hurst shifter for a bench seat. The front drums and manual master cylinder were removed and replaced with a Disc Brake system. The old master cylinder was replaced with a new Corvette master cylinder and booster. The lines were replaced with stainless steel lines on the front, new Rotors, pads, bearings etc. The rear brakes were rebuilt with new shoes, wheel cylinders, and brake lines. It has new 3 inch Aluminized exhaust with X-pipe, Dynomax Welded mufflers, reversed tips. It sounds great going through the gears. The headers are Headman Ball Flange headers wrapped in header wrap. The car has original GM Corvette Rally Wheels 15x7 front, 15x8 rear. The carpet and backing jute and door panels are new as well. New gas tank, filler neck, fuel lines, filter & fuel pump. The rear end is stock and is a 3.55 or 3.50 gear ratio. No idea on if it is a posi. The fluid was changed and a new pinion seal was installed. The rear u-joint is new. New engine and transmission mounts. New front and rear sway bars and bushings. New shocks in the front and rear. The engine is a 4 bolt roller cam 350 engine from a Chevrolet Truck. It has a one piece rear main seal. The heads are Edelbrock Aluminum E-street 64CC heads. They were new but had the valve springs changed to match the cam profile. It has Scorpion Race Series billet aluminum roller rockers and Competition Cams pushrods. Black cast bow tie valvecovers. The Intake is an Edelbrock Aluminum Endrashine Vortec style dual plane manifold. The distributor is a new Chevrolet Performance HEI distributor part number 93440806. The cam is a Competition Cams roller camshaft & roller timing set. (High performance street/strip • Needs 9:1 compression, 2500+ stall, intake, gears & headers • Rough idle - 235 Duration/522 Lift/107 Lobe Separation) I have the specs/paperwork on the rotating assemble as well. (Eagle crank and 6 inch rods, ARP bolts, Mahle forged pistons with skinny rings). The block was decked, balanced and blueprinted. It has a Melling high volume oil pump, hardened shaft and new pick up. I think the oil pan was a Milodon (?) zinc oil pan with baffle. I have the machine shop paperwork. Neutral balance McLeod flywheel and Ram Clutch & pressure plate. Highflow Summit Racing Parts water pump and aluminum pulleys. 140 amp chrome alternator. It has a new aluminum radiator in the 6 cylinder position and new hoses. Not installed are L/R floor pans, a wiring harness, tail lights, parking lights, parking brake handle and cable. Door sill plates, windshield & rear window weather strip. Some parts are still in the boxes. I bought parts to rebuild the front end of the car. If I find them they will be included as well. The car drives good for its age so the front end was not rebuilt. Car sat in my garage for a year and any restoration or hot rodding came to a stop. It cranks, runs, drives and stops. The carburetor, an Edelbrock Aluminum 600CFM, did not like the vacation. Maybe due to the ethanol gas in the area. I try to run ethanol free (89) and 93 octane premium mixed. It runs fine at speed but needs feathering the gas pedal when idling. This is a recent issue. It may receive a new carb this week. We drive it to local car cruises. It is a 60+ year old car so its going to have rust the the floors, door and rockers. I can not promise a perfect car. The car is not a museum piece but a survivor. I don’t need to sell the car but I don’t want it to sit in my garage. I will consider offers without the engine.
