Vehicle Detail

Up for bid is my 1999 Honda Prelude Type SH in pearl white exterior with black interior. I purchased this car from my cousin, the original owner, who purchased the car brand new from Rock Honda in Southern California. Long story short, he moved to Seattle Washington about 17 years ago now, kept the car for about 12 years there, then asked me if I was still interested in buying it. I asked him back in 1999 to let me be the first to know if he was going to sell the car, and he remembered years later. I've owned the car now for 5 years with no major problems other than regular maintenance and changing out wear & tear parts, as needed. The car has been very reliable for both myself and my cousin and has many more miles and years of driving left in it. Parts that I've replaced in the past 5 years include the timing belt/tensioner, balance shaft belt, water pump, spark plugs, plug wires, plug tube seals, head cover gasket, distributor cap & rotor, all at about 140k miles shortly after I purchased the car and with all genuine Honda parts. The only aftermarket parts in the car, as far as I can remember, are K&N stock replacement filter which is reusable when cleaned and oiled, the suspension is less than 2 years old with less than 10k miles on them and are Koni Sport (yellows) with H&R sport springs (red), and Neuspeed front upper strut tower bar, all purchased brand new. The clutch and flywheel were replaced less than a year ago with Exedy stock clutch and Fidanza lightweight flywheel. Oil was changed about 2 months ago, but I haven't been driving the car much lately because I have other cars and I don't want to risk anything happening to the car since I've been planning to sell it the past year, although I've been having trouble letting it go. So the oil is still clean and has about 1,000 miles on it, if that. The Interstate battery is about 6 months old. It has an eclipse head unit with cd and dvd, but the cd output is not working because, I believe it is not connected to the audio output which would require a simple wire connection. The DVD video and audio work great, but you should not watch movies while driving even though the unit allows you to because it is dangerous and illegal (disclaimer). I can not be held responsible for any misuse of the unit. It appears that the stock speakers were swapped out with quality aftermarket speakers such as Pioneer and Kenwood, but I don't want to take the time to open up the panels to look (sorry). The door tweeters are aftermarket Lanzar brand, and the driver side tweeter is not working because the wires disconnected somehow. There is a Kenwood amp in the trunk and it appears to be ready for a subwoofer. All of the other speakers work well and I apologize for not fixing the other audio components, but I'm not much of an audio person. Also, the gauge cluster was replaced because my cousin had the bright idea of changing the gauge faces to white, but when he put the needles back on the speedometer and tachometer, they both never worked the same again. I replaced it with a gauge cluster that had about 9-10k miles less than what was on the original cluster. Everything thing else works well- A/C, heater, moon roof, power windows, power door locks, although the passenger door lock sticks sometimes, especially in hot whether. I believe it is a simple fix that might require removing the door panel and cleaning/lubing the locking mechanism and/or actuator. Lastly, there are a few things that might need attention. The sideskirts and rear lip are oem Honda and in great shape, but the aftermarket front lip has a few scuffs that need repainting (not a big deal, and not hugely noticeable). The front shocks seem to make some noise when going over a bump or pothole. Might just need to play with the ride height through the adjustable perches. Also, the passenger front shock came loose and rubbed up against the inner wheel well, which basically shaved off the shock stiffness adjuster (unsure of the technical name). There is a small oil leak which I'm pretty sure is coming from the original oil pan gasket, since nothing seems to be leaking above that. The heat shield for the exhaust manifold is missing. The driver side headlight is pretty hazed over, but I will include another oem headlight that is in better shape and could be cleaned up. I've disclosed everything that I know about this vehicle. It is a solid daily driver and a good base if you are looking to make a full out toy. Message me with any questions and I will respond as soon as I can. If you'd like to look at and/or test drive the vehicle, let me know and we could make arrangements. I live in the San Gabriel Valley (Southern California) near the 10, 60, 605 and 710 fwy. Like I mentioned earlier, I've had trouble letting this one go, but my wife insists that I need to... especially after buying another cousin's pick up truck over the past weekend. Starting bid is $100.00 with no reserve. You will not be disappointed. Happy Bidding! On Aug-01-17 at 22:20:28 PDT, seller added the following information: JUST TO ADD & CLARIFY A FEW THINGS: 1. THE REGISTRATION IS CURRENT AND EXPIRES IN 1 YEAR, JULY 2018. 2. I COMPLETELY FORGOT ABOUT SMOGGING THE CAR, BUT I'LL TRY TO GET IT DONE TOMORROW 8/2/17. IF NOT, I WILL MAKE SURE IT IS TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE THE TITLE IS TRANSFERED. 3. IT SHOWS THAT I AM THE 3RD OWNER BECAUSE WHEN ONE OF MY OTHER COUSINS FOUND OUT I WAS BUYING THE CAR, HE ASKED ME IF IT WAS OK IF HE BOUGHT IT FOR HIS SON (MY NEPHEW) INSTEAD. I WENT AHEAD AND GAVE IT UP, BUT HIS WIFE DID NOT WANT THEIR SON TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE SHE FELT IT WASN'T SAFE FOR A NEW DRIVER. I THEN BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THAT COUSIN WHO HAD THE CAR PARKED IN HIS GARAGE FOR ABOUT A MONTH. NOW, MY 15 YEAR OLD SON WANTS ME TO KEEP THE PRELUDE FOR HIM, BUT MY WIFE WOULD RATHER HE DRIVE A SUBURBAN OR HUMMER.
