Vehicle Detail

1968 Mustang Fastback (GT350/Eleanor Tribute) - YouTube Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] Up for auction is a 1968 GT350/Eleanor restomod. This car started its life at a REAL 1968 Fastback (not a chopped up coupe conversion like 1/3 of the "fastbacks" on Ebay - yes these are getting harder and harder to find and the value has gone up year after year.) I purchased this car about 2 years ago and have over $25,000 in receipts which will be included. I am only selling it due to the upcoming birth of a new child and sadly Ebay will not let me sell the child.ABOUT THE CARHere is what I know about the car from work I've had done and from the previous owner. All work I have had done was completed by Graveyard Classics in Hollywood FL (The #1 restoration shop in S. Florida) ENGINE (Comes with transferable warranty - peace of mind on the most expensive component!) Brand new, custom built 408ci stroker put in less then 800 miles ago. (Full warranty for 30 months - 24 months remaining) HP & Torque: 425 HP / 486 FT LBS (Dyno sheet included in sale)Compression Ratio: 9.7:1Aluminum HeadsHypereutectic PistonsRoller CamCast Steel CrankHand picked 2 bolt main seasoned 351 Windsor blocks bored .040 overSquare and parallel deckedAlign honed main bearing boreCylinders honed on computer controlled machine to within .0002 straightness and roundnessNew I-beam rodsHypereutectic pistonsHastings Moly ringsRotating assembly balanced to within 2 gramsMelling high volume oil pumpHydraulic roller camshaftCloyes double roller timing chainCamshaft degreed for maximum horsepowerCast steel crankshaftPerformance Aluminum headsHardened retainers and springs2.02 swirl polished intake valves1.60 swirl polished exhaust valvesRoller cam .543 Intake / .554 Exhaust218 Intake / 226 Exhaust duration@ .050 - 112 degree lobe separationIgnition set to 34 degrees total at 3500 RPMADDITIONAL COMPONENTS/WORK/INSTALLSNEW 100 Amp Alternator NEW Ford Bracket SystemNEW Ceramic Coated HeadersNEW Power Steering w bracket and pump. Truck is very solid, as are all rails and torque boxes. This car would be considered a high end driver, not a show car. (That said, it did win Best of Show at both shows I put it in!) I have been very meticulous with any repairs and love this car to death. In my opinion it has the best of both worlds, GT350 and Eleanor styling. The orange stripping REALLY makes this car stand out. If you are looking for an amazing car that continues to climb as an investment, that you can take to shows and still drive. This is your puppy. Its 50% of the way to a sick GT350 or GT500 Eleanor, or leave it be and have fun. Please ask ANY and ALL questions PRIOR to bidding. I am happy to give truthful answers to the best of my ability. Also you are strongly encouraged to see the car in person BEFORE bidding. Sold AS-IS, where is. ALL SALES FINAL. COMMON QUESTIONS Q: Why are you selling the car?A: I have a new child on the way. That's it. I love this car. Q: Do you have a Marni report?A: Nope, sorry. Q: Was the car ever in any accidents?A: Not since I have owned it and not to my knowledge. Q: Do all the lights, windows, turn signals, locks etc work?A: Yep, everything works as it should. Q: Does the car have AC?A: No, and it gets hot as heck in there too, especially in FL. Q: Do you have a clean title in hand?A: Sure do Q: Would you finance me?A: Sorry, not interested in financing anyone. Q: Are you open to trades or partial trades?A: I would be open to a 360 Ferrari or a Lambo/Exotic kit with cash on top. But that's it. Q: Does the car leak fluid?A: Surprisingly no. Almost all cars this old leak a little bit, but nope, Shes rock solid. Q: Do you pics of the underside?A: Not aside from the one posted. Underside could use a cleaning, but its not hiding any issues per say. Q: How are the brakes?A: They are fine. Stops as it should, no squeaking. Q: If you were to keep the car what repairs would you do?A: Probably front shocks. Not sure if they need to be replaced or if the rubber bushings just need to be changed. Worse case senario $300-400 bucks. Other than that, I've spent 25k in the last 18 months with the intention of keeping her forever so there isn't much that can be done that I haven't already done. Also the paint is an 8 of 10. From 6 feet its flawless, but if you want to find a pinhole bubble here or there and a rock chip, you will. Likely I would repaint the car in 3-5 years, but its not really needed unless its going to be a trailer queen. Q: What about rust?A: No significant rust anywhere. All been cleaned, cut and replaced.
