Text for pictures. 203-707-4166 Here we have a one owner classic Mercedes-Benz for sale. The car hails from San Francisco, California. The 300D, also known as a W123, has a reputation for going over 500k miles. In fact, in Africa they are still used as taxis or to haul around important diplomats. It is a car that was truly built to last. You honestly can't compare it to any modern car unless you're over the $100k mark as far as quality in material or ride quality. They are very easy to work on and don't require much besides routine maintenance. I would not hesitate to drive the car back to California. Clean California title. I had the car shipped to CT in December of 2016. Since then, it has been garaged and hasn't been exposed to any road salt or snow. There is no rust anywhere on the chassis. The original undercoating is still intact. All wheels are true and straight showing minor wear for the age and mileage. The paint is in rough shape in some areas with typical clear coat failure on the hood, fenders and doors, although from 10-15 feet it still looks great. There are minor dings here and there but all in all the body is in decent shape. The interior of the car is also in great shape but it does show signs of wear and tear in a few places. The driver's side seat bolster has a 1 inch tear. The passenger seat and rear seats are intact and have no discoloration or staining. I steam cleaned the entire interior, removing the seats and carpet to fully clean all nooks and crannies, as well as inspecting for any rust or damage underneath the carpets. The door panels are in good shape with no rips or tears. The dashboard has one half inch crack towards the windshield.The headliner is excellent with no rips, tears, or stains. Mechanically, the car is great. I have fully went through the car. The cooling system has been overhauled. new water pump and thermostat installed, citrus flush done, new hoses, drive belts, sensors, and coolant reservoir drain plugs. All engine filters have been replaced which includes the air filter, power steering filter, both fuel filter as well as the tank fuel filter, fresh Delo 15w40 oil with MANN filter. Both Oil cooler lines have been replaced ( Difficult neglected item). New glow plugs, New bosch fuel injectors. Valve cover gasket as well as oil pan gasket replaced. Air cleaner mounts are common to fail and have been replaced. The return hoses have been replaced for each injector. New Lemforder engine mounts as well as engine shocks with new bushings. The transmission filter has been also replaced. Transmission cooler hoses are brand new as well. Brand new battery as well. The car is in great shape for someone looking to drive as is or continue to restore back to its glory days. The car starts right up and is ready for a new owner.
