Vehicle Detail

For this price range, this 150 has a lot to offer. It’s a solid and for the most part rust free car. Grew up in Columbia, not sure when she came to the States, there is a 1993 Columbian sticker on the windshield. This was my father’s car, he always had a few projects going on in the garage. He purchased this one on eBay 3 years ago and it came with a straight 6 and 3 on the tree. Here is what I know about the car… completely rebuilt 327 and 4 speed transmission. Engine compartment was blasted and painted while engine was out of it. Although they are drum brakes, they have been completely gone through, new wheel cylinders and car stops as it should. New front wheel bearings, both sides, inner and outer. New manual steering box and pitman arm. New shocks, both front and rear. Inside… the carpet is new, the seat covers are new, the door panels are new, the arm rests are new and all are correct to the model & year. Headliner is in good shape, no sags, rips or tears, if it were sprayed with black fabric paint it would look great. Windows roll up and down nicely and the doors open and shut better than my late model. Lights work, both high and low beam. Tail and break lights work. Blinkers work. Gas gauge works. Speedometer works. Wipers work. Emergency brake works. The trunk was carpeted years ago and still looks great. Outside… front bumper is new, rear bumper shows some age but is quite acceptable. The 15x8 Vette rally’s are excellent and the Coopers have full tread. As far as the body work and paint, although they have not been done the car is not an embarrassment, the driver’s side actually shows pretty well and I’m always shocked by the number of people who tell me how nice the car is anytime I drive it. It was painted many years ago and probably not a top notch job, though I will say it is not wavy and seems to have very little body filler. There are some dings (the worst being on the passenger front fender), paint chips, etc… I kind of like her this way, never do I have to worry about driving it, I don’t have to worry about a door ding or stone chips and I’m not looking to win a trophy at the car show. The patina you see on the passenger’s side is where surface rust started to bubble and come through the paint, those areas were sanded to bare metal and then sealed with clear coat. Underneath, the front driver and passenger floor boards have been replaced. As can be seen in the pics, a rear passenger floor rail (not sure of the nomenclature) is partially rusted through but all 4 of the body mounts appear solid along with everything else. All in all the car runs, drives and handles pretty well. The 327 engine seems to have a mild cam and does not lack power, though it may benefit from some fine tuning as she sometimes will cough a bit when you really put your foot into it. Although you can’t see that the engine has been completely gone through, you can see that all of the components are new… HEI distributor, plugs & wires, Eddelbrock 4-barrel, starter, alternator, battery, etc. Again, for the money I think you would be pleased with the overall condition of the car and I don’t think you’d have to worry about any buyer’s remorse. Good luck!
