Vehicle Detail

The car is registered in Virginia, where I bought it and resided before moving to Louisiana, which is where the car is located now and garaged at my home. I am not technically savvy, nor an afficianado. I love the body style, so I bought the car. That's the extent of my expertise. I did keep up with maintenance, but the engine failed me a couple months ago. I was driving along the highway on a very short trip (<10mi) when the engine began to stall. Before I could pull on the shoulder, I heard a clunk... then the engine died. I called for a tow, pushed it into the garage, and it's been setting there ever since. I've tried to crank it once since... it turns, but clunks and does not start. I called a couple local mechanics to no avail. One shop told me "I don't even know anyone who remembers how to work on that car." So, here it is. Offered at far less than its marketable value in good running condition. Here's what I know:I have the title in hand, it is clearThe battery is a 12v reverse groundThe transmission engages properly, a bit noisy in 1st gearThere is rust forming around the driver's side tail lightSome rust spots below the doorsThere are a couple small dings on the bodyThe only instrument that was working correctly was the tachometerActual mileage is unknown The top has a couple small ripsThe interior dash lights do not workThe suspension was a bit squishy - I suspect bushings are original or oldThe taillight lenses are replacements (originals in parts box)The wipers are replacements (originals in parts box)The steering wheel is a $350 aftermarket non-repro wood w/ polished stainless steelThe shift knob is an aftermarket wooden non-reproNew floor mats with embroidered MGNew seat belts with MG on claspThe tires have low mileage, but the passenger rear has a slow leakThe knock-off painted wire wheels are original - a similar chrome wheel is in the boot on the spare I cannot answer the following questions with certainty:Has the car ever been in an accident?Does the body have repairs? Is the paint original? Is the top original?NOTE: I welcome and encourage a hands-on inspection by the prospective buyer, or a third party agent hired by the prospective buyer.Arrangements for transport MUST be initiated and paid by the buyer. I will hold the car for NLT 2 weeks after payment has cleared. The car is sold as is with no guarantee or warranty other than what I've stated in the description.
