Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on very well restored example of a 1965 Honda CA95 Benly, sometimes called the baby Dream. No expense has been spared and an extraordinary amount of meticulous work has been done to this motorcycle. I have seen other restored CA95s on eBay, and I know of none that have had as much work done as this, or had paint jobs this perfect. I assure you it is as close to new as humanly possible, and has only 5 minor details that are not as stock, and 1 minor blemish. I will attempt to describe in detail all the work performed on this bike and link to YouTube video with bike running. https://youtu.be/CiXWgOj7yxMI have hundreds of photos if you'd like to see more of the work that was performed, please ask. There is nothing to hide - this bike is amazing.Everything on this bike works as it should, it is ready to ride right now. It has approximately 300 miles since restoration, so everything is adjusted; it shifts, runs, and rides great. It doesn’t have any leaks, there are no bugs left to work out. (When I see a “5 miles since rebuild” Ad, I wonder how many hidden things are left to discover?) Of course it has a clean Colorado title that matches the serial number of the frame. All work was performed by an airline pilot - motorcycle restorer hobbyist so you know everything was meticulously done perfect and correct. Engine: Complete Overhaul (aircraft definition, full disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and replace) By clean, I mean clean. Any part could have been placed on your wife’s pillowcase and she wouldn’t know it had been there. Look at the assembly photos! All new gaskets All new shaft seals New Factory NOS pistons, 1.00mm oversize New Factory NOS ring set, 1.00mm oversize Cylinders bored 1.00mm oversize (Precision cycle) New Intake valves New Exhaust valves All valve seats cut, resurfaced, and lapped Head masked and media blasted, acid etched, ultrasonically cleaned Starter rebuilt (commutator, brushes, bearings, etc.) Countershaft shift fork replaced One gear set replaced as a matched pair Crankshaft oil plug removed, passages cleaned, re-plugged All outside cases polished Fresh carb rebuild, acid dipped, ultrasonically cleaned Gascolator rebuilt, polished, new seals, new strainer Frame: Complete tear down to bare metal and rebuild from ground up of almost every component. Frame, front fender, side covers, tank, chain covers, headlight housing, front fork, rear swingarm, foot pegs, kickstand, centerstand, taillight bracket, seat bracket, fork cover, battery holder and airbox cover all media blasted to BARE METAL before starting work. All holes and cracks were TIG welded, dents were PLANISHED out so almost no Bondo was required. All the aforementioned parts were 2 part epoxy primed, and painted individually inside and out. Yes, if you look on the inside of the frame or under the fenders of this bike, it looks as good as the outside. ALL spray-able areas are painted, base and clear! The front fender, Tank, rear fender, headlight housing and side covers have been wet sanded, and buffed to a perfect mirror like finish. The rest of the paint is as good if not better than any factory paint job I’ve seen. There are no runs, sags, or blemishes. Look carefully at many re-painted bikes and you will see orange peel, sags and runs. Look carefully at the finish photos, this paint is nearly perfect! A full 90% of the hardware was media tumbled until it looked new, or was replaced. Specialty hardware was RE-PLATED. Yes, Phosphoric acid dipped, and Zinc electroplated so it looks new. Lots of the decorative trim on this bike is aluminum. All the trim was polished individually until it shined like chrome. The seat was professionally recovered by a local upholstery shop. New brake linings Some new Wheel Bearing seals Some New Cables Gas Tank Hydrochloric Acid cleaned, flushed, looks like new inside New NOS battery New Mirrors (original CA95 style) The following 5 items are Not stock: Exhaust pipes. They are aftermarket finned pipes. THE PIPES are modified to bolt directly onto the CA95 with no modifications to the bike itself! You can literally unbolt these and bolt on stock pipes. (If you can find any that aren’t rusted out, or any originals that look worthy of the condition of the bike itself, which is why the current ones are aftermarket) The other advantage is they sound GREAT! Grips: They are thick foam which helps with the vibration inherent to this vintage bike. The result is a much more comfortable riding experience, as I have other restored CA95s that have original grips to make a comparison with. Tail Light Lens: The tail light lens has an aftermarket “blue dot” installed that is reminiscent of the 1940’s. It is tasteful and looks great, however it is not stock. I have a brand new taillight lens I will include at no charge if you prefer a stock lens.Turn signals and control knob: This was added recently and can be removed. Rear light are installed on the license plate bracket and front are mounted on the fork. Includes light up old school flashing control knob on the handlebars. Centerstand Handle: The centerstand pull handle on the left hand side of the bike has a small engine piston tastefully attached as a decoration. I think it looks great and has gotten lots of comments, but to be perfectly stock, it would need to be removed. Centerstand and Kickstand Color choice: On the original bike they would have been painted red. Since the paint on the bike is a top quality base coat, clear coat over epoxy primer, I was concerned that it would scuff and chip under the abuses of the job they perform, and look lackluster next to the highly polished paint. I knew it would fare better as powdercoat black finish, and I hope you agree. RECENT ADDITIONS: Honda wings front emblem was added on headlight. Rear seat rack was also added. There is one blemish on this bike. After fuel sloshed around in the tank, it wicked up the gas cap cork gasket material and started to damage the paint underneath the gas cap. In order to stop the paint from bubbling up, I cut a small ring of finish paint from under the cap. The epoxy primer is still in place underneath, and I replaced the cork with a modern rubber seal. These steps stopped the continuation of the problem. Fortunately the gas cap covers this up, but it isn’t perfect (and I need things to be perfect)On Jul-10-17 at 19:22:01 PDT, seller added the following information: I have many more pictures that I've been sending to watchers. Please message me if you'd like more pictures - this was an extensive, meticulous restoration. I also have the original toolkit provided with the bike in excellent condition.
