Vehicle Detail
This is definitely the one you want. One-owner car purchased from Oakland Subaru in 2005. I wanted a sports car. I needed a wagon. I got both. This is the much sought after 4-cam turbo 2.5 liter 250HP engine from the STI/WRX stuffed into a wagon. It has a sport suspension, leather interior, huge sunroof, upgraded amplifier and speakers, and a full service record. Great for hauling the kids or groceries and equally at home having fun in the canyons. The good, the bad & the ugly. I'll be as thorough as possible here. I have a 100% rating on eBay because I will tell you EVERYTHING I know. The Good:The engine is a masterpiece. 4-cam, 2.5L, turbo that just moves. Mated with the 5 speed auto transmission and AWD, this car is unbelievable to drive. Very fun.Interior is Momo from the factory, but was upgraded to full leather when I ordered it.Power driver's seat AND power passenger's seat. Both are heated.Upgraded suspension to KYB GR2 struts.Huge sunroof (now a moonroof, but I will explain below).6 CD player (do you remember CDs?). Upgraded amp and speakers from when it was my daily driver. The body is incredibly straight (see pictures) with only a small ding on the passenger wheel arch. The paint on the body is in great condition (more about the bumpers and scoop paint below).60/40 rear bench makes hauling a lot of items easy with lay flat seats. Tonneau cover in great condition for the rear cargo area.Thule rack bars on top. Sorry, the ski and snowboard accessories are long gone, but you can add your own. The Bad & The Ugly:There is cosmetic wear in several places. The rims have slight rash (see pictures). There are paint chips on the bumpers (see pictures). The scoop was repainted poorly (see pictures). There is a 5 inch tear in the driver's seat bottom, but does not affect the seat as it is a seam stitch (see pictures). The sunroof broke a few small plastic pieces so does not open, although the sunshade opens giving you plenty of light. There is a small tear in the passenger side rear seat bottom from a car seat (argh). The headliner has a small grease spot from me using it to transport a vintage Vespa (do you need a vintage Vespa?). The glove box door has come loose at the hinge - it is still fully functional, but you need to hold it to lock it, although I think it is an easy fix. The rear cup holder spring is missing (thanks little ones), so it will stay down part of the time. The scuff plates on the rear cargo area have been removed as they became bent over the years - this does not affect anything. Maintenance (listed in miles, since we almost never use this car anymore):Turbo, intake tube, and engine wiring harness replaced ~10,000 miles ago. These are the major wear items and were replaced as a precaution. All fluids (trans, center diff, rear diff, cooling) replaced ~10,000 miles ago. Engine oil replaced ~1,500 miles ago. Radiator replaced ~15,000 miles ago. Tires replaced ~10,000 miles ago. Brakes replaced ~10,000 miles ago. Air Conditioning recharged ~2,000 miles ago. All factory service intervals for timing belt, regular belt, hoses, oil changes, etc. followed. Most service performed at Oakland Subaru, where the car was purchased. Why are we selling it? The car has served us well for many, many years, but was no longer a daily driver ~4 years ago. From then on it went to "Home Depot" and "Nursery" (plant) duty and we drove it about 3 times a month. Now we drive it once every 5-6 months. It will serve a much better purpose for someone that actually needs a car. This car runs and drives perfect. We actually just hauled 5 of us and a lot of gear to the mountains over the 4th of July without any issue in 93 degree weather. We would really like this to go to a good home. Payment terms. $500 due within 24 hours. I will deliver the car anywhere in the Bay Area, CA for $1 per mile (which will pay for my Uber home). Buyer can also pick up in Oakland, CA. No international bidders please. If you are from out of the area, I suggest you get delivery prices for shipping from uship.com. Please ask any questions and I will try to answer ASAP.
