Selling my 03 Vw Jetta Tdi. This is a NO RESERVE auction, so bid to win! This is the very rare 2003 with a 5-speed. Many consider the 02/03 manual tdi wagon the "holy grail" or "unicorn" of vw's diesel offerings. This variant was only made for those two years (2002-2003) with the bulletproof ALH engine and 5-speed manual transmission. Also the last "legal" diesel wagon that got good mileage and was easy to maintain. There will most likely never be another tdi wagon that will be legal for the US. This one is grandfather-ed in, so no worries of recalls or buy-backs, and passes California smog no problem. What makes this car even more rare is that it was a 1-owner California car when I purchased it in April of 2016. California got a very small allotment of 2002/2003 TDIs to sell because of tight emissions standards, so most vw diesel of this era were from other states, ofter east coast regions and now showing signs of rust. This car has ZERO rust issues and is laser straight. The ALH/5-speed combo is easy to maintain and has been known to easily surpass 500k miles. My tdi wagon runs great while getting consistent 40-50mpg. The A/c blows cold. No accidents. It has all original paint, with minor scratches on the heart bumper from loading. Great condition for age and mileage. The original (and previous) owner bought the vehicle new in Northern California and owned it from late 2002 till early 2016. She was an old lady that worked for AAA and was fanatical about the car. I have all the records from her ownership, two binders worth. The most recent and relevant maintenance consisted of a full timing belt/water pump/oil change by a professional shop in early 2016 right before i bought the car, about 10k miles ago. Under my ownership I've replaced the EGR sensor (common ALH problem) and changed the oil with the proper synthetic. Its also worth noting that the original owner used the proper VW approved synthetic oils for the life of the car. Some small issues to note; headliner sags in the rear and OEM radio deck has a couple missing buttons (easy to source from VW). These tdi wagons are as rare as hens teeth.
