The Town Car has always been appealing for its spacious seating for six people, its smooth and stable ride, and a capacious trunk for luggage and golf clubs. It’s4.6 liter V-8 engine with 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission, body on frame construction, and rear wheel drive give it a solid, traditional feel with more than adequate power and surprisingly good fuel economy for its substance (EPA miles per gallon ratings of 17 city and 25 highway using regular gasoline). Essentially the same power train was used for years in many Ford Motor Company vehicles, and its durability has been proven.In commercial service, the typical Lincoln Town Car’s life expectancy exceeds 400,000 miles. Repair parts are readily available and relatively inexpensive.The Town Car was completely redesigned and reengineered for 2003, and its styling and features remained essentially the same through 2011, so this well-maintained example looks and drives newer than it is. The Cartier trim was the top of the Lincoln Town Car line for 2003 and included many items as standard equipment, such as air suspension, anti-lock brakes, traction control, all power accessories, dual-zone automatic air conditioning system, autolamp high-intensity discharge headlights with delay exit feature, fog lights, rear parking aid/backup sonar sensors, a power trunk lid that opens and closes at the touch of a button on the key fob, and unique nine-spoke chromed aluminum alloy wheels.Passenger safety is enhanced by standard front and side air bags, and seat belt pretensioners. The standard Lincoln radio was replaced by an aftermarket radio that features auxiliary input so that your Smartphone’s navigation and music apps will work through the car’s radio just like many newer cars do. Car includes aftermarket Sirius Satellite radio. Now for the few blemishes: Driver’s power seat motor stopped working, but the seat can still be moved back and forth manually.
