Vehicle Detail
Was not going to relist this due to a non-paying buyer, but I have too many projects around. Thought I'd give it another chance. This is a true barn-find...alright garage find. These cars are only original once, and I fought the urge to play with this one. I had to add some kind of tires that held air to move it..The garage was so old and crumbling that the parts loft over the car finally collapsed onto the car, customizing the windshield as well. The car had been in that garage since 1979. We used a plastic jug for gas, found an old 6 volt battery, gave it a jump, and it shocked us and ran pretty good. No smoke, or strange noises. Just the initial coming back to life smoke that went away. Drove it up onto the trailer, and it stopped like it should. So this is a running, movable, project. It will start with a jump. I've only driven it on the property. Obviously you wouldn't want to go even on a 10 mile run without totally going over the car after sitting this long. I wanted to paint the roof cream, and the rest of the body flat black rat rod style, but I have 3 other hot rods that need attention. It's got dents on almost every panel. I tried to show the problems, windshield, driver window has a crack, drivers vent window is cracked. The rest of the glass is intact. The interior is a time capsule to the '50s. Seats are something you could put off for awhile if you're rodding, or even restoring it. Maybe paint the doors white, leave the rest black, and put an old red gumball machine, and clone an old police car.We hooked up the original gas tank with a rubber hose instead of that jug..The car is located in Manning SC. A $500 deposit is due at end of auction. Bid high, bid often. On Apr-30-17 at 05:55:50 PDT, seller added the following information: A buyer had a question as to the floorpan and support condition. I added two pictures of the only bad spots I could find. If it will be a rat rod or a driver, a 3inch strip of 10ga. steel will patch the driver trim/threshold. The one by the dimmer switch is not much bigger. There is one support behind the drivers door rocker that should be redone. The rest of the floorpan is looking pretty good. No soft spots, only some surface rust. Drivers area always takes the worst beating, and this car IS 63 years old....So not too bad for all those years. On May-01-17 at 14:48:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Did some digging and found a pass inner front wheel well that needs some love, and a nice chrome taillight bezel and taillight lens for the car. They'll go with it. Now if I can just find a trunk latch....I'll keep digging.
