Presenting a fully restored with no expense spared, original California black plate 1964 356 C. We started off with a good solid 356 with no structural damage, with the usual slight rust that is typical on a California 356. Once obtained, a full complete restoration began.Starting with a careful slow media blasting and sanded down to bare metal to reveal all hidden rust areas, all body components were completely dismantled and then the body was placed in one of our rotisseries specific for 356 restorations.Replaced with new Stoddard supplied parts :Front floor pan with new pedal support and toe board mount.Both longitudinals with new supports and jack receivers.New diagonal members and battery box.All inner structural panels after media blasting were coated with POR15 for maximum rust prevention.The entire body and all individual components (doors , hood , engine lid) were meticulously prepped before painting. This 356 paint job alone had no less than 300 hours of work.Even spaced gaps on doors, engine lid, front hood.Paint was formulated using the very best and top of the PPG brand line of paint.Front and rear suspension were completely stripped down, rebuilt with new bushings, seals, bearings and repainted to new factory-looking specs. 4 new SACHS shock absorbers were installed.All new clutch components were installed.All new brakes were installed.Original chrome dated wheels were refurbished.Transmission was stripped down and refurbished to new.Gas tank rebuilt by reputable specialist with metal tag showing certificate of rebuild.Brand new complete set of correct rubber mats just installed ($700). All gauges refurbished and look brand new.All chrome pieces of seating refurbished and look brand new.All new body rubbers installed.New rebuilt engine was installed (non matching #), starts right up with first turn on ignition. The photo of the gauges reflects 3100 RPM at 75 MPH.In Sep 2016, a complete new to original factory specifications interior, was built and installed by Award winning Autobahn Interiors. This included both front and rear seats, new factory spec carpet, door and body panels, new headliner, new glove box. This interior alone was almost $13,000.This 16 month restoration was well photo documented and done by a team of dedicated craftsmen, and the obvious immaculate workmanship shows in this beautiful silver 1964 356. This 356 is literally like a brand new 356 from the factory in 1964. With all the proper and period correct upholstery materials used, as soon as you open the door you immediately notice those distinctive delightful aromas. Well over $80,000 has been spent.
