Vehicle Detail

1969 Honda CB750 “sandcast,” frame 2157, engine 2241. This bike is a very clean rider, it is not restored. The engine has been rebuilt, valve job, pistons, rings. The chassis has been completely serviced and rebuilt; new swing arm bushings, new wheel bearings, of course, new grease in the swing arm and steering head. With exception to the Candy Tone Blue-Green paint, the Yamiya red foam seat and new “no.no.” exhaust, Yamiya airbox, side covers the machine is original. The RH switch was replaced Honda oem, nos. ALL parts on the motorcycle are correct for this vin range. All perishable parts, such as rubber parts replaced with nos oem Honda. New O-ring chain, new front sprocket and correct oem like new 45 tooth rear sprocket. Anything and everything that needed replaced was replaced. All original figure “8” bolts, short ferrule speedo/tach cables, sandcast drive boxes for tach/speedo, etc and as per distinctions found on this vin range as noted in wwwDOTcb750sandcastonlyDOTcom The round oil filter cover is not original, it is made from a finned cover. The original black paint on frame, various chassis parts is without rust and the overall patina of the motorcycle is attractive; the motorcycle shows as a very well cared for 48 year old motorcycle. The mileage on the odometer is the mileage on chassis to date. When I got the bike the odometer read 17,020.8. The instrument faces have been replaced. People who have seen the bike think it’s restored and are surprised to learn (except as otherwise noted) original. The carb float needles are Viton, the needle seats are new. Too many new parts to mention. The carbs have been tuned with a Vaccumate and exhaust gas analyzer. The ignition is the PowerArc optical ignition system. Complete, correct tool kit. The new unused exhaust baffles will come with the bike. 2 spare plug keys, June 1969 Owner’s Manual as well as Honda’s “Welcome to the worldwide Honda family,” letter, and Honda Warranty booklet. I have ridden the motorcycle approximately 1600 miles since the engine was rebuilt. The cylinder/head joint has a slight weep. I am selling the bike because because I am moving on to other personal interests. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me – Steve Swan. Overseas interest are responsible for pickup and shipping. On Mar-29-17 at 22:28:01 PDT, seller added the following information: The mirrors are correct original double logo "HM" and "MS" type the blinker lenses are the correct early type (not the later type with excessive DOT verbiage.) new fork seals, new master cylinder kit, new brake pads, nos oem cables. as noted previous; everything that needed replaced was replaced. the headlight lens is a period correct aftermarket accessory, fits a halogen H4 bulb - Made in France by "Auteroche" all JIS screws on engine covers are oem nos. hexes of nuts and "8" bolts are perfect; original zinc plating not rusted and intact. the engine starts immediately, idles smoothly, transmission engages and shifts easily, accelerates strong through entire rpm range. On Mar-29-17 at 22:37:23 PDT, seller added the following information: of course; "wrinkle" tunnel gas tank.On Mar-29-17 at 23:56:08 PDT, seller added the following information: i will provide additional pictures upon requestOn Mar-30-17 at 06:20:31 PDT, seller added the following information: i've rec'd questions as to when the bike was built on the assembly line. the upper case has a casting date of 6/2. the lower case has a casting date of 5/30. likely this motorcycle came off the assembly line sometime June 1969.On Mar-30-17 at 20:13:24 PDT, seller added the following information: The upper and lower hydraulic brake hoses are new reproduction and the correct short neck type. these reproduction hoses are a perfect copy of original short neck hose. the upper banjo attaching to the master cylinder is also the correct straight neck. the factory did not fit a rubber boot on the early short straight neck hose. when i took ownership of this motorcycle, it was fitted with original short neck, straight banjo hoses; i was fortunate to have access to a new correct set of these hoses. according to the factory parts book, the rubber boot was first seen around frame vin 2721.On Mar-31-17 at 10:19:07 PDT, seller added the following information: i have added pics from frame and engine vins.On Apr-01-17 at 23:40:58 PDT, seller added the following information: the airbox is the correct early 2 hole type.
