Vehicle Detail
I have a 1970 firebird. Plain model with a real formula hood. Car was purchased in an estate sale. Owner used to race the car. It has an electric fuel pump, headers with open tubes, frame connectors and is missing the front inner wheel wells. Car is NOT tubbed. Odometer reads 51XXX, title says 54000. I believe that the car only has mid 50’s on the body. Body- good condition. Some rust near the upper L/H quarter panel where the spoiler meets. Has metal there and is repairable. Quarters had lower panels apparently welded in at some point in it's life. Body has been rough sanded and primed. Roof had sunburn and the paint has flaked, and should taken down to bare metal. Fenders have some repairs in the lower section and slight amount of rust. I would just buy two new fenders. Includes taillights, and I believe the headlight bezels. Formula hood appears to be genuine, but someone sanded down the gel coat in several areas and it will need some gel coat work. Rockers appear to be in very good condition as do both doors. Floors are actually very nice, with it being undercoated. Where oil has removed the undercoating you can still see the factory red primer underneath. Driver’s floor DOES have three small holes, and I would consider just replacing that area of floor, as there are no other visible holes or patches. Front frame and rear frame sections appear to be very solid, and there are frame connectors installed. Trunk pan WILL need replaced in my opinion, but if you were just racing this car you could install some patches. Included with the car is a 3 piece duck tail spoiler. Interior- missing the inner door handles. Includes both bucket seats, and rear seats as well, (still installed). Also have both door interior panels in fair condition There are some switch’s located on the dash used for accessories. Heater control panel is included. Currently this is being sold as a roller, but I will include a 1973 400 short block pulled from a running car, .060 over; and a used turbo 350 transmission. Also have an oil pan, timing cover, and I will include a set of late model large valve heads, as well as a HEI distributer, late model cast iron intake, and Quadra jet carb to get you started. Also, the car has a Chevy 12 bolt posi rear, with 3.73 gears, I believe hardened axles with extended studs, and a driveshaft loop. Also included is a second flat hood with a racing scoop. The body will need some work, and I would keep it and fix it up, but I have other projects to contend with. I have included pictures of the rear frame rails, trunk, and stainless trim, grills, door panels. There have been a lot of people emailing me about specifics; Reserve price, etc. If you want the car, email me and if we agree upon a price I will post a buy it now option. I am trying to represent this car fairly, please look at my feedback. I do not want someone buying this car without realizing there will be some work. I reserve the right to end the auction early, as the car is for sale locally. The car does NOT drive and will need towed. I believe it would be easy to get this thing road worthy with a small amount of work. Car can be viewed if interested. A truly interested party can come and inspect it before purchase. I require a $250 deposit at the close of auction, and can keep the car for up to 10 days if full payment is made.
