I am selling my 85' 250R I restored a few years ago. It has maybe 30hrs or 40hrs on it since build. Runs great. Starts right up 2 to 3 kicks cold and 1 to 2 kicks warm. Began project by sandblasting frame/swingarm and beadblasting engine. After paint rebuilt engine with new bearings, gaskets, seals piston rings. Transmission was in great shape. Waterpump rebulit with OEM seal/o-rings. New OEM stator(crazy hard to find) crappie aftermarket stator failed once hot after 2nd ride. Entire build done with stainless allen head bolt kit. The swingarm installed with new OEM bearings, seals and dustcaps. Replaced rear shock with a new OEM assemble(rare NOS). Forks have new OEM boots, seals, top caps and I replaced springs with new progressive rate springs. Polished sliders and triple trees. Fork uppers polished(some previous owner used vice and mared finish but polished out as best I could). Polished throttle, radiators, kick starter and axle anti fad nut. Axle chromed. New blue silicone cooling hoses, billet case saver and water pump cover. New OEM bars painted gold with new OEM grips end caps and OEM on/off switch assembly(86' style was only availble). New OEM clutch and throttle cables. New OEM platics (fender, rear fender, radiator shrouds and headlight bezel). New OEM tool box. K&N air filter. Boyesen carbon reeds and ported intake. New lone star double row billet bearing carrier. New FMF gold seris pipe and turbine core silencer/spark arrester. New set of OEM tires (by Dunlop but same mold as Ohtsu). Rebuilt front and rear brake calipers with new pads. Rebuilt both front and rear master cylinders. New OEM replica front brake hose. New gold o-ring chain. New OEM front and rear sprokets. Pictured with cooler style grab bar but have OEM black grab bar too. I am selling with xtra set of pro-wedge tires and OEM gold rims. Helmet and gloves. Forgot to mention new OEM clutch plates and OEM wafer bearing and pressure plate upgrade kit that give it a much more modern feel. One more thing. There are a lot of crazy low hour original 250rs on the market. Some advertise as even "mint". This is fine for "your museum" what ever the hell that means but if you do not plan on riding it. "Mint"..... impossible!!! You have a trike that is 32 years old. Which includes 32 year old seals, bearings, gaskets and electrics. You will end up with parts failing and hard to find replacement parts harder and harder to find. This auction is for a classic 32 year old 250r that is not really 32 year old so it is ready to ride for years to come.
